Any details? Seems like a reasonably safe stretch other than people pulling out in the path of traffic from the garage.

I saw the signs asking for witnesses this weekend.

Big question though: Were the camera imbeciles up on that bridge just around the corner from there when it happened? I've seen them cause serious mayhem with panic braking there. It always seemed really dangerous to me causing an extra distraction where people have enough to think about allowing traffic on from the garage and off at the next exit too.

Unfortunately Plod is rather one-dimensional in this respect... if you were breaking the limit, anything that happens is your fault; if you weren't, you're innocent. A nice and easy 'crime' to solve, and even better, connected straight to your bank account.

All the Suffolk Ripper has to do to escape is travel within the speed limit and have a valid tax disc.

Ahhh, yes of course. However there's no suggestion of speeding -- as we've all seen people doing <75mph will still often stand on their brakes because they either think the limit is 60 or just because of the shock of the potential disproportionate penalty they might be about to pay.

I think in cases where the camera van has caused an accident like this, they tend to pack up and clear off double-quick.

I was wondering if they were involved in this one...

That was on friday when I came past their was car on its roof ambulances and fire engines about and a couple of men or woman lying on the ground.

Did not see many paramedics around them so I guessed that was a bad sign.

What a tragedy. And yet I fully expect [name removed] from the local camera business to be crowing about how speed kills yada, yada, yada.

He doesn't realise that by wasting valuable resources on their cowboy outfit that could otherwise be used for measures to improve road safety, he is either directly (by being on the bridge causing mayhem) or indirectly (by pretending to be Norfolk's road safety brigade) costing the lives of Norfolk drivers.

I hope when their scam is exposed -- and I'm delighted to see the signs everywhere that it's not going to be long -- him and his cronies are held properly to account.

Have you seen the camera on the A1 north near Grantham.... The road is very badly scorched directly in front of the camera. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out cause and effect.

Even Brunstrom seems to have been reprogrammed. Nice pension though.
