2007 Events - ta-da and hurrah

The PHEA admin staff, who labour tirelessly through the winter months planning interesting 'stuff' to entertain and delight, have finally emerged blinking into the January sunshine and present you with the biggest-ever list of events for 2007.

As you can see not all dates are finalised, but will be in due course. There are some established shows, some new shows and also several raids so hopefully everybody will like at least something!

Howdy folks! Just popped over from the Northants forum. Don`t forget we`ve got some regular events if you fancy heading west along the A14. Good to finally meet V8EOL last Sunday at Sywell. This is now our regular monthly meet(1st Sunday of the month) and the legendary "Northants Run" is pencilled in for early March.

Can I ask why there appears to be no Hunstanton Run in Memory of Ian Beech?

Hi Darren,

We thought that this year in might be nice to go a little further around the coast, as for all its plus points (very close for me!!) Hunstanton does not have a lot to do apart from invade the cafe'.

Obvoiusly at Holkam there are several attractions along with the Hall itself,and Wells is only just down the road for some sea air and fish & chips !!

Purely because we've done it twice, some people have done it more than twice, there's not a lot there really, and we thought a change would be good. Ian was actually found at Wells, I believe.

NB We may call in on Gussie too, subject to availability. So it's still a memorial run in a way, just different

Agree with Darren, another run to Hunstanton and kite flying on the beach with a toast to Ian.

The main 24heures or Classic?
Annual event is very busy, mainly large male groups, lots of beer and noise.
Classic event, not so big, more family oriented, wider range of cars on display and track, pit walking event split into heats - but only run every two years - next one is 2008!

I also think that will be a good idea
For those that haven't been before, there is something for everyone.

The bygones museum is well worth a look (ideal for the mechanically minded, which is most of us!!) although it's not always open.
It's been a few years since I was there last but, parking should be a breeze with so much parkland to choose from

That part of North Norfolk was one of Ians favourite spots, so should be quite a fitting tribute, I think.


BTW, if you need anyone to scout it out let me know. I'll do it!

edit to add: as it so happens I was up on the beach at Holkam at 8:30 this morning. Lovely walk in the cold morning air. The amount of geese wintering on the marshland there is just amazing. Thousands of them!

Also Holkam has the Real Ale Shop which is highly recomened but take the Credit Card and an empty boot when going there.

BAYLISS THOMAS a forerunner to TVR !! How so? A small Company buying in components like engine / gearbox and bolting these to its own chassis to create an open top sports / tourer. Known to have competed in racing with limited success. Manufactured tiny volume of cars before going belly up. Nothing very different just 80 odd years between them

Its true tho that museums for old bangers and steam get me almost excited as ???

I have e-mailed a link to Keith at Marham (who took on running the track days there from me) to take account (because you lot have been good supporters of them) of the PH calendar in planning any events this year, assuming he is going to aim to run a couple this year.
