Hello

Following on from the sucess of last year's run I thought we'd do another one :-)

Sunday the 11th of April

  • ***Update**** change of plan regarding car parking at Aldeburgh

Start point (A) Thetford - Sainsbury Car park 9am (Led by Darren)

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&a...

Start point (B) Cambridge - Tesco Car park 8:30am (Led by me)
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&am...

We'll then drive to Stowmarket to meet everyone else

Start Point (C) Stowmarket - Tesco Car park 10am
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&a...

We'll then all drive to Aldeburgh and hopefully get there by 11:15 (ish)
MadMax (Ade) took a drive up to the area we were looking to park in and said it looked like the surface of the moon with a million craters.

So we have to park in the North of the town in the Thrope Road Car park (pay and display, space for 240 cars)
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&source=s_d&a...

Ade said it is best to park at the far north end of the car park.

Once there you are you are free to do whatever you like smile There is a Fish'n'chip shop not far from the car park that opens at midday. You can get your food there and eat on the sea front. Alternatively there is a sit down restaurant further down the high street. All the shops are open on a Sunday too.

What I'm going to need however is a few volunteers to lead small groups on the run from Stowmarket to Aldeburgh. The route is really easy to follow and full paper and TomTom maps will be provided. I'm going to lead one group but depending on how many cars sign up we may need 2-3 more leaders.

Oh and Simpo is exempt from leading anyone, he'll follow me to make it the first run I've organised when he doesn't get lost!! wink

Here are the annual award categories:

  • Shinest Car
  • Dirtiest Car
  • Loudest Car
  • The Puff Daddy, Bling award
  • The Driving Miss Daisy, Gentleman driver award (or Gentlewoman)
  • Best British Sports Car (prize donated by Kerridges, Needham Market)

There will be an array of rubbish great prizes to be won.

Results will be announced once we get to Aldeburgh. biggrin

So get your name down

To be fair, almost everybody got lost! I think it's a cunning plan so you finish first, win the cup and eat all the food...

ETA: I'll meet you at Stowmarket

Looks interesting smile I'll need to check my diary a little nearer to the time (see if the wife has anything planned), but if I can make I'll be at the Stowmarket meet point in an MG TF.

Hello

The trouble with a Cambridge start is that it would have to be at 8am to get to Thetford by 9am.

Alternatively if there is enough interest I could do a Cambridge start and let Darren lead the Thetford leg...... wink

PS got new gearbox then?

Howdy Mark smile

What's the issue with an 8am start wink that's late in the day in PH running terms biggrin the legendary Kent Run starts at 5am and it takes me an hour to get there yikes That's the level of commitment we are talkin' about here.......... or maybe i just need to be sectioned silly

Regarding the transmission i'm still on a temporary standard gearbox but my uprated gears have been cut and heat treated and are now just awaiting assembly......... so hopefully just another couple of weeks smokin

Julian.

Yeah - might have to edit the post to replace with Monza - as I've got to tax that in April for Marham

That and the list of jobs outstanding on it

However Monza means no Mrs BC and I'd hate to dissappoint you guys by not bringing her along
