I thought I'd start a thread for TradeMe cars that we could keep adding to as interesting stuff comes up. Here's one from today that appeared elsewhere a few weeks back but with less photo's.

I like this Westfield, www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Lotus/auction-74088064.htm

What price should it go for?

I'll admit to being a little confused. confused

It looks like a Pre-lit Narrowbody, but the dates & details don't match up and the badging is wrong ? ¿ ?

Must do some more digging to find out when it was first registered and under what makers name.

An SEi would have had a Zetec no?

I had a Xflow and I think it was just an SE? I love his car though. May see if I can email him and see what he wants.

I'll have to update my profile! Thats what I used to do but now I live in Palmy and haven't yet popped down to Manfield.

IIRC correctly the SEi was the IRS and the SE had a live axle. The engine was down to the builders choice. My Westfield was an SE with a 1300 x/flow but I changed that with a 1700 x/flow.
I had a Sierra 5 speed gearbox to replace the 4 speed but needed to change the prop for it to fit so left the 4 speed in BUT it really needed the 5 speed.

heres a few I kinda like:

www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Specialist-cars/Competition-cars/auction-67548435.htm
-996 GT3 TargaNZ car with spares for $140k.

www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Specialist-cars/Competition-cars/auction-74369171.htm
-Supercharged MX5 (according to comments not registerable as pre-1994 though so would be track or competition only)

www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Specialist-cars/Competition-cars/auction-75094181.htm
-Alvis Stalwart hehe

www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Specialist-cars/Competition-cars/auction-74705579.htm
-looks a fairly sorted MX5 (how does 1:28s at manfield compare with other roadcars? not a track i'm too familiar with)

www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Specialist-cars/Competition-cars/auction-75720155.htm
-could be a cheap way to start a project for someone with the time and skills.

www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Specialist-cars/Competition-cars/auction-75136661.htm
-Fun Mk1 Escort.

www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Specialist-cars/Competition-cars/auction-75268289.htm
-cheap sideways fun.

www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Specialist-cars/Competition-cars/auction-75394358.htm
-Lynx Seven replica, anyone know anything about them? any good?

www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Specialist-cars/Competition-cars/auction-75591006.htm
-Somewhat tweaked AE86, looks to be fairly nicely done.

www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Specialist-cars/Competition-cars/auction-75671766.htm
-Lotus Eleven replica.

Hmmm, I think that'll do...

I have to admit that if I where looking for a project it would have to be this:
www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=75201323&key=615628

However one of these would be nice for the commute:

A bit of 'old school' eh

Not sure I'd want something that has had Bernie Eccelcakes hands on it.

To me it seems about the same level of ridiculousness as personalised plates.

-Lynx Seven replica, anyone know anything about them? any good?

The chassis for the Lynx is the dreaded Triumph Herald. The body is a tub that drops on the chassis, two wings and the nosecone / bonnet assembly. Grp quality was strong but not flash. A lot were modded to take a Datsun 180B center as any sort of power shreaded the Herald diff. One or two of the Lynx's had tube chassis built for them. The motors orignialy sat quite high so side on the nose cone appears to point up. There was a black one that the owner took a tapering section out of the bonnet / nose cone to drop the front down so it looked better. Most Lynx's were built to a very tight budget and it showed.

I'm guessing it's non compliable... or so their ad for it in Classic Driver Magazine says.

As for the Noble.... I'd never buy a car off Roger.... I'd bring one in from the UK for half the price
