In my mail this morning...

Hi Don
I live in Perth, West Australia and have owned 97 Cerbera 4.2 from 2001-2005 and have cute tangerine 1971 blown Vixen still.
We are touring NZ 30 Dec to 18 Jan north to south. do you know any car events on or things I should see or visit or do whilst there? Car museums/displays/hillclimbs etc.
Have you finished the Cerb? Would love to see it and the engine bay if you have and hear about the conversion.
Hope to hear from you.

Hi Nick,
I'm not sure about events but the Southwards car museum in Paraparaumu (just north of Wellington) is well worth a visit, Te Papa is the national museum of New Zealand in Wellington and they have Nick Britton's world beating superbike on permanent display there - worth a visit for that alone but the whole place really is a must see. There's a thread here about the best NZ roads - have a look through that for what you can build into your own itinerary.

Unfortunately I'm away overseas all of the time you're here. The Cerb isn't anywhere near finished basically due to lack of time/focus but will soon be making progress as I've handed it over to a local kit car builder to move it forward. Enjoy your trip around!

Hey Nick I will be back in Chch from the 14th. Bed here if required. Are you flying out of Chch?

You can race me on the TVR scalextric set that work gave me.....

Has anyone else got one of these I am spending an alarming amount of time on it. Sadly due to too many high speed crashes / rolls I'm already down a wing mirror, two spoilers and a window wiper and I only set it up Friday night.

Yes, leaving from Chch on fri 18 jan.... it'll be a sad day. maybe have a beer and drive with you on the thurs evening? Gotta go out to David Irving's studio and buy some of his car artworks/drawings. Is he close to Chch do you know? have a look at: http://www.david-irving.com/ .....where is Akaroa?

Akaroa is about an hour South East of Christchurch. Its a nice drive and many people do it just for the sake of it in Weekends etc. Even if you wernt going there for a reason Id recommend it.

Hi Nick,

Could drive you over to Akaroa on the Thurs / afternoon / evening in the TVR you'll just need to buy non framed / (smallish frame) works or we can take a support car for the shopping.

hi leyton
Sounds great. What time do you want to meet up and where? I haven't got accommodation organised yet as we are using wotif & lastminute close to the time for deals. I'd need to check an evening visit to David Irving is OK with him.
maybe give me your mobile or best number to call you on?

How many earplugs do you need to jam down her throat to stop the snoring?
