So, I've finally managed to kerb both of my previously pristine alloys after years of pussyfooting around.
And yes, I feel like a prize idiot.
Can anyone recommend a good alloy repair place in the north Kent area? The only one I currently know of is Lepsons, who I know will provide an excellent quality of service, but at £130 for the both, I can't help but feel it's quite steep.
Is this the standard price? Or is it a case of you get what you pay for?

I think they charge different rates depending what finish you are having etc. I never paid anywhere near that. They have a good reputation. I was certainly happy with their work.

Cheers for the recommendation, I've used the tyres dept before and they were excellent, so I'm sure the refurb will be of a good quality. I'll drop them a line tomorrow see what they will quote me.

Mate I used lepsons for 4 911 turbo wheels on my last car and the quality was fantastic. It was a 996 turbo with the standard 18inch wheels. If I remember correctly it cost me £55 a pop, which I personally feel is great value considering they strip them right back and start again. Don't be fouled by the ones that come to your house etc, the quality is no whe near as good.

Yep A friends had his sorted there a while back who used to own a powder coating company. When he got them back he was well made up with the quality of finish, infact they are now better than new.

Lepsons are very good. I had a set of 16" alloys refurbed with a polished lip, they matched the colour and fitted balance the tyres. 3 years on they are almost perfect apart from a bit of lacquer lift on the polished lip which he warned me might happen.

One last thing, they do an almost infinite number of colours and finishes etc. if you're not a 100% sure what you want, give them a call and try and get down there when they've been busy as they will have a load of newly finished wheels they can show you for ideas.

Lepsons are not the only company who do a good job. For the past 5 or 6 years I've been taking my wheels to RimTech in Meopham. Run by a guy called Scott they are based at the Railway Sidings behind Meopham Station. I've recommended them to many people and they do an amazing job. Just pop down there and lok at the finished wheels waiting for collection from customers. I scraped a back wheel on a Pepsi can and a kerb in my 1 year old Clio and they matched the anthracite paint perfectly. Also scuffed the front so they did both in four days for £110. They do a next day service if you can't wait.

I've used Spit and Polish in Tonbridge a couple of times and can recommend their work. I was given a tour of the workshop and was amazed what they can do in terms of repairing wheels that looked fit for scrap to my eyes.
