Massive thanks to Damien Bradley and Steven Darley for helping me source probably one o the rarest WRC parts out there for a bugeye.
Genuine Prodrive S8 Tarmac splitter/skid pan in autoclave carbon.

This is the real deal and will suit the car perfectly as it fits right up to the underside of the WRC front bumper. They only made the S8 cars for a year in 2002, then they only had this particular splitter on tarmac events, so there can't be that many of them around.

Handmade WRC rear doors. This is how Prodrive did it and this is exactly how the real works cars are.

I'll let the photos do the talking.

Cheers Steve.

Nowhere near finished but the 1st door gets some epoxy and high build primer on it.

Before anyone asks. It's not supposed to be smoothed to the door as that's how the S7/8 cars were. Only the S11 onwards had a blended door.

Dude,

She's letting me build a road going WRC car with less than 3 months to go.
If that's not an indication that she's 100% the right girl, I don't know what is! biggrin

Today's sillyness.

Here you can see just how much material gets removed to build WRC front tubs and turrets. The offside shows just how little of the OEM piece is retained.
New pieces placed in that accept the WRC oil cooler setup. Surface rust comes as standard. biggrin

Tubs & turrets in.

Dave... Step away from the bloody grinder!!

This is how yesterday's antics finished. You really start to get an idea of just how much is cut out of the rear tubs on a WRC car. The arch wells are huge. Rear flare is still in rough unfinished state and the bumper is a rough GRP mockup.

Parts laid up to get an idea of the arch line.

The NSR tub and turret taking shape today.
Here you really start to see how much wider the WRC flares are than the OEM body. You can also see just how much the wheel wells now intrude into the rear door apertures. The arches are absolutely enormous.

Even tacked in it looks pretty damn cool, can't wait to see it smoothed, epoxy coated and painted. biggrin

Scary bit first though!!

More coming soon.

More forming of the rear door jam and its return. Here you can see how much of the rear wheel well comes into the door aperture again. Also how much the jam has come out to meet the wider track.
Also more fettling of the rear qtr panel. The rear qtrs aren't far away from going on now.
All of this will then get its final fit and finish along with panel gaps to be set before she goes for paint.

Rear quarters with more finishing.

Cheers dude. Although it's not like you haven't seen it all before. Lol

Well today she finally got a rear qtr panel stitched on. Looks so much better to start looking a bit more like a car again.
The panels are bang on the OEM panel gaps which unfortunately shows up how poor the bumper fits. This will be adjusted so it's perfect, rally boys don't care for panel gaps. But we do and it will be perfect.
Hopefully we can find a genuine ex works bumper and it should fit perfectly.
