Paul Stephens Porsche Breakfast Meet + Classic & Sports Cars By The Lake - Sunday 1st September
Looking back at the resent Cressing Temple Motor Show meet which included breakfast and a two hour spirited drive across some of Essex’s finest roads both Richard (moleCSL) and I have decided to organise one more outing before the summer departs.
In 2014 we will be back with three more events spread across the summer but for 2013 this will be our end of season finale.
Earlier in the week I had confirmation from the event organisers of the Classic & Sports Cars – By The Lake (Bury St Edmunds) that we (PistonHeads) can provisionally have a display stand for 25 cars. With close to 400 cars on display, hot air balloon display, BBC Radio Suffolk Broadcasting Live from the event and a Green King Licensed Bar this has all the makings of another brilliant day out.

The Convoy:
Similar to the Cressing Temple meet we will be organising a convoy to the show, the meeting place will be Halstead area although we are yet to confirm a location. We do have somewhere in mind but I am awaiting confirmation from the owners if it possible to use and also if they want to join us in one of their cars.
We will ensure that the route is plotted out (as per the Cressing Temple meet), meaning there will be a superb variety of twisty / open roads which we can all enjoy on route.
Cameraman – James Morgan
James Morgan is a young budding future cameraman who is studying TV Production at university and is currently at WhatCar on a work experience program. I’m pleased to be able to confirm James’s attendance again for this meet so not only will you guys have an amazing day out but with James on board you will also get some footage of your cars in action as the convoy moves from Halstead to Bury St Edmunds.

Further to Nick’s post on Tuesday, we are now in a position to announce the following;
Rendezvous Point
It is with great excitement we would like to announce that the meeting place for Sunday 1st September will be Paul Stephens; a Porsche Specialist based just outside Halstead. Paul Stephens specialise in air cooled Porsche models (1964-1998) and water cooled 911 GT2, GT3, and RS models (1999-Present). They have an extensive stock list of modern and classic Porsche as well as other marques.
On the day Paul Stephens will open their car park and doors to us and provide a display of classic cars with access to the showroom and have offered very kindly to provide teas and coffees for the bleary eyed!
Breakfast
In addition we have arranged for Caffe Toscana from Halstead to attend and they will offer Bacon, Sausage and Egg sandwiches.

The Route
Last weekend Nick and I drove a route from Paul Stephens and on to Hall Farm and we have to say it is a fantastic mix of fast A roads, B roads, twisties, dual carriage ways, villages and roundabouts giving a varied mix of roads that should keep everybody happy and suit all car types. At over 38 miles long the route should also provide some good opportunities for James to get some external fly by footage of the cars as we make our way on to the show.
Route files will be provided nearer the time for loading on to Sat Navs.

It’s going to be an early start for most but we can assure you it will be worth it!

I have spoken to the event organisers today and they are leaning on me a little already for confirmed numbers, unfortunately we are not going to have the luxury of the last event whereby we almost made it up ourselves as it how many cars turned up and what time we arrived.
To help me out as much as possible for people who did not attend the last run please let me know the make and model of the car you will be turning up in unless it is blatantly obvious. I am up to speed so far so nothing above requires amendment.
I'm am working on a few little bits at the moment with Rich (moleCSL) concerning a meeting point and also breakfast for those who fancy an early rise, if you guys have any questions do let me know.
