I nearly always take option c if coming from the A2. As for the traffic chaos at Bob Dunn way and the roundabout today, I bet they've changed the phasing of the lights on the roundabout to limit traffic arriving on the north bound slip road.

I went over the bridge today and it was so much easier and never went below 40ish all the way. I expect my company will receive a penalty in a week or so as despite me telling them I doubt they'll pay the £6 charge and I'm sure my vehicle is not set up on the account.

Yep southbound was brilliant tonight, completely smooth.

Northbound still looked packed though, don't think there'll be much improvement that side.

It should be OK once they've sorted out the over height system but I think it could be complicated as I believe the two tunnels have different height limits.

Yeah, unfortunately the right hand bore is the bigger one otherwise they would have been able to restrict HGVs to the left hand bore. It's only the big fans on the roof that make the left hand bore too low, I remember someone driving through there years ago and knocking half of them off of the roof hehe

The fleet account system seems to be working. My car went through Sunday lunch time and the account was debited this morning.

Yup,
I just checked mine too and it has taken £1.67 for each of my journeys on Sunday.

Pay online now and it's £3 per crossing, it used to be £2.50?

Said on the radio yesterday the change over work won't be completed until April, I really can't see why it should take that long.

I normally have a look on the way down the hill, you can see if the traffics moving on the flyover bit and the M25. I don't go on the flyover if it's queuing, I'll run up to the roundabout and then join the M25 if the slip up to Princes road is queuing (it's quicker in lane 2 on that slip if there's a queue half way up).

If you're going to turn off at Bluewater don't go all of the way around the 255 as it's normally at a standstill for the last mile, go up the 296 and join at 1b or cut up and go down Cotton Lane (3228) think you can still go up St Johns road, then run along in lane 2 over the M25 and turn left at the roundabout as everyone sits in lane 1 and uses the dedicated lane bit.

This is all going on previous experience though, I don't know how it's going to behave now there's no stopping at the tolls, I think it may be better to get on the M25 as quick as possible and go for lane 4 as it will only be the joining traffic that will be slowing the lanes down.
Nice thanks, like the Cotton lane tip.
AHEM! Would you lot keep quiet about my private route please hehe

Was stopped at the tolls at the tunnel for 5 mins earlier and had a chat with the girlie sitting in the booth. They're not getting rid of those tolls, they're just moving them back underneath the Erith junction where they're building another slip road. The barriers will be open all of the time and will just close for overheight vehicles and the escort service. Apparently there's going to be no control down here, they're doing it all by camera from Leeds.

I was under the impression the new toll is £2.50, up from £2.00 under the old Dartford Crossing co. Are they using Ticketmaster to collect the tolls and adding 50p commission on each crossing. rolleyes

Has anyone received a fine for not paying yet? My other half crossed both ways last week and forgot to pay. Wondering if they will be lenient in the first couple of weeks (unlikely I know).

The dartford crossing site now says your crossing won't register until after 48 hours after the crossing.

Protip: Dirty number plates = free crossing.

We had to go to Ikea on Friday evening(yuck). Took the X-Trail, which is absolutely caked in road grime and mud. Journey over and back was hassle free, even relatively early on a Friday (about 6.45PM northbound).

On Saturday, I gave the front headlights of the X-Trail a clean as they were so bad I wasn't sure if they were even on tongue out At the same time, I gave the plate a wipe over. In the afternoon, we had to take a friend to Stratford and went via the bridge and the A13, then came home via Blackwall.

Checked my account this morning, and we've only been charged for the one crossing we'd made with a clean plate tongue out

Not sure if it was said in this thread or one of the others about foreigners not paying but Boris was on LBC today and the foreigners not paying question came up. He admitted that it's nigh on impossible to get them to pay up if they don't want to, that's even assuming they can be traced.

Well it finally popped up on my account around 18.30 last night, just before I was going to phone and enquire.
Just wondered if it took along time to register as it's a "Trade Plate" so has no vehicle attached to the No.

Amnesty for late payers announced - good news as I was a day late paying first time I went over.

Sooner or later, they will have to pass through a Ferry Port or Rail terminal.

Pay up with interest or you miss your booking.
