4.45pm today the windows were rattled and I thought the chimney had fallen off the roof. Had a look and found nothing. Bumped into a neighbour shortly after who lives further up the road and he heard, felt the same. A little google brings up it was more widespread than just our little road. Anyone else ??

Two jets intercepted an unknown plane and escorted it to Stansted and created a sonic boom on their way apparently.

It's all over local press.

Apparently it was AN-26 that had lost radio comms and contact with ATC.

The markings are to avoid being shot down by a stray Ryanair or easy jet aircraft.

I heard the bang, (Kent, ME19) thought it was thunder at the time.

If real, great audio clip of the pilot of one of the fighters.
