blimey, wouldn't rate the Oakdene myself, yes big portions, but quality is average at best.

Riverside Cafe at Yalding, between the 2 locks is good fare and they have a garden.
Hawkhurst fisheries - tidy grub
Deal pier
the Oasis Cafe on the New Romney rd ( better quality than the one by the Harbour in Rye imho)
I was impressed with Deal pier too.

I know this is a car forum.. but you do know if they'd welcome cyclists after a hearty mid-ride breakfast?

I think they would welcome you more before you had a hearty breakfast. I think their trade is in selling you the hearty breakfast?

Depends how far into Kent you want to go, but I can reccommend http://www.fortscafe.co.uk/#!menu/c21kz on the seafront in Margate. I had a bacon & egg roll and coffee there last weekend and they were probably the best I've ever had!

Airport Cafe on the A20 at Lympne near Hythe...

Get off the M20 at J10 and take the A20 towards Hythe.... Hang on, Ive thought of another one on the way to the Airport one... As you follow the A20 towards Hythe, there is a blue and white cafe on the right at Smeeth, then if you are wanting the Airport one, keep on going past Smeeth through Sellindge keep going and its on the left about 1 mile further on near the turn for Port Lympne Zoo.

(Some call it Sellindge but its just off Folkestone race course where they hold War and Peace)

Masses of parking and a great breakfast!

I'm not over keen on their lunches but the brekkies are very very good!!
