Hi all,

Just had an offer accepted on a house up in Halstead and wondered if anybody has any recommendations for a decent conveyancer in North Essex?

Many thanks,

Matt.

These days you don't actually need a local firm. I deal with clients from all over the UK. Everything is done by email and post.

We've used Cherie Nield of Holmes and Hills in Braintree for conveyancing twice in the last few years.

By no means the cheapest but she's been very proactive and responsive compared with the other conveyancers in the purchases we've been involved in and she certainly earns her fee by relentlessly chasing everyone else involved to get contracts exchanged as quickly as possible.

I used Adrian Hitchcock @ Steed & Steed, was very good and always returned my calls which made a change from others I've usedsmile

My wife is a conveyance solicitor at Fisher Jones Greenwood in Colchester.
Ask for Charlotte Cohen tell her I recommended you from Pistonheads. Obviously im bias but her repeat business is massive and the amount of times she comes home with presents from customers is crazy. Obviously doing something right smile

My parents and Mrs S and I have used Birkett Long in Chelmsford recently for house purchases just over the border into Suffolk, very efficient and didn't seem overly expensive.

We lived up the road from Halstead in Wickham St paul for a year, lovely area to live.

Good Luck

Thanks all, I managed to get a recommendation prior to your kind advice so went with that and all seems to be moving quickly thus far.

Matt.
