Hi,

As it says in the title really. Looking to head out on a Saturday morning drive into Kent (start at 7ish and breakfast at
8:30ish ideally), taking a mate from out of town for a drive. Starting from SE London looking for nice drive and a nice place for a fry up. Doesn't have to be posh, just a great fry up!

Any suggestions for eateries or routes would be greatly appreciated!

I'm sure Sunday's are better for driving but restricted to Saturday due to commitments on Sunday.

Thanks!

A clue about your location might help. SE London covers quite a lot of ground!
Here's a suggstion to kick things off - https://goo.gl/maps/eEFz7Q8yyPU2
Can provide alternative ideas if that commencement point isn't convenient.

n.b.
It's easy to miss the turning from Chevening Road via Chipstead to the A25.
If you do, carry on to the traffic lights at Sundridge and turn left onto the A25.

Thanks Red Devil. I'm based out of Greenwich.

That route looks interesting. Will take a closer look at it.

Many thanks.

Have you thought of this one, not Kent, but in Essex.

I will be going on the 2nd of April, haven't been before, but have been told it is a great gathering of cars and a good breakfast smile

It gets busy, so best to get there by 0830 hrs

You're welcome.smile

From the centre of Greenwich (Cutty Sark) to the end of the J4 spur will add a smidge over half an hour to the journey time.
https://goo.gl/maps/iA7Rmt4S9pN2 or https://goo.gl/maps/MLEsuctkTG52 - there shouldn't be too much traffic that early on a Saturday morning.

No problem with The Hare as a destination, but it's a lot further to go to reach any half decent roads. Nothing until well beyond Brentwood.
This is the best stab at it I can come up with - https://goo.gl/maps/rfDsyo2QL5S2

There are some great roads on the way to Rye and a decent breakfast at the end. If,you are feeling super hungry there is a place in Cowfold that serves huge breakfasts and a couple of others nearbye with less car and biker interest. Lots of good roads and the option of the m23 if time gets tight for the journey home.

Sticks.

I've not been there for years, but friends have, and confirm the Knoxbridge cafe is still very good.

I last went to Rye a couple of weeks ago and fwiw Tenterden/Smallhyth Rd had some nasty potholes.

The B2089 via Udimore is the nicest way into Rye imho.

You get a great breakfast here http://www.carwashdiner.co.uk/ No parking issues, plenty of good driving roads and the A21 straight home again.

Agreed, but the OP will have to travel much further to reach them and remain within the same time window - https://goo.gl/maps/4YieHFQEAoL2
You're spoilt for choice in Rye. I prefer this one - https://goo.gl/maps/XDqLnt7NfyT2

The OP said Kent, so I hadn't thought of West Sussex. OK for time and onto the fun roads much sooner - https://goo.gl/maps/hs2EXqGszQT2
The first part is the same as my Knoxbridge route. Just turn west instead of east onto the A25 at the traffic lights in Sundridge.

Never been there. Just needs a slight change to the end of my original route - https://goo.gl/maps/TVxQJXL8nd52

Awesome Deere!

Did you go for the Curious Brew?

My mate had a pint of the curious brew. He liked it very much. Chapel Down is a lovely place. Came away with a few bottles...

Yes - the Deere was great. Real road presence!

Saw a similarly coloured Bentley. Actually saw it too closely! It almost hit me head on driving down the centre of a lane. Looked like a bit of a special car judging by the rear. Didn't look like the standard Continental GT.

Sticks.

O/t but I'm in there regularly as I leave a bottle of Flint Dry in my holiday-let. It seems popular.

I bought box of 12 Curious Brew and @4 of them were cloudy so didn't buy any more. It's available on draught locally but even a couple of pints give me cracking headache in the morning.

It does taste nice though drink
