Housing Market - East Ayrshire

Hi All,
Have been looking for my first home for around 6 months now, I was really expecting a flurry of properties to come into the market this month but it seems to be so very slow.
Hardly anything has came up for sale and the other thing that puzzles me is the prices seem to be all over the place for similar properties on the same street.
I am not even sure what the outlook is for this year, some articles say its still going to go up this year, some say it will slow with prices not moving.
Seem a few houses I really liked that sold 3 years ago, what they are worth now I have no clue otherwise I might have left a polite note to see if they were interested or thinking about moving.
Any insight from others?
