Hi

I am looking to have my garage revamped and turned into a clinical home for my car. I want floor tiled, mirrored walls, storage units and some form of ventilation or dehumidifier.

I am trying to emulate a car showroom type feel.

Does anyone know of a company who does this? If so any recommendations? ie good, bad, watch out for etc.

any idea of costs?

Cheers

Take a look at my thread just below titled "Hello". Is that roughly the look you want? There's info in there.

The floor is exactly what I want, I was looking for mirrors on 3 walls or 2 walls and mirrored doors on the storage and a dehumidifier and posibly an electric garage door. But I don't have the time to organise 4/5 different companies to come in and out doing bits.

I guess I need

flooring contractors (got the details from Hello post)
Bespoke Mirror manufacturers/fitters
cabinate makers
ventilation specialists
garage door specialists
an electrician
and decorators

Who did all yours? and was it alot of hassle organising it all?

Your garage looks great by the way, nice choice in cars as well.

I know a guy who can do the tiling.

There's an Essex PHer who's an electrician, doesn't post much - Madmatt I think his name is.

PM me if you want either of their contact details.

Ah right, the guy who could do the tiling was the same guy (builder) I gave you the number for from the previous thread.

Did you find someone else to do the work then?

Havn't looked for anyone as yet, it all hinges on planning permission. We are buying a house which is due to get planning any day now and once that goes through we can exchange contracts and that is when I will be contacting people.

But I have the chaps details and when we are in I'll deffo give him a call.

I got other individual contractors to do the rest of the bits, but that's because I had people working elsewhere who could do that work.

The contact for the flooring could most likely do some of the other work too. Mirrors are easy. Just get any glazier to quote. They will supply and fit.

Cabinets were done by carpenters I hired. Same for electrical work etc, where I just hired individuals who did that job.

It wasn't much hassle, and took 2 weeks for all work, then another week for the flooring (took time for resin layers to cure).
