Hi All, Need some help with car purchases in Florida. Bought the holiday home and now want to buy at least 2 cars there as well to drive when on holiday. Are there some good deals to be had when purchasing as want a R8 V10 spyder or Lambo Spyder and a Evoque. Would have to be a cash purchase as no credit history in the USA. Please help !

Have you looked into insurance for the cars? If not you may want to as you might struggle to insure a car without a social security number.

HI,
I have spoken with my Ins Broker and can insure any car at a price. A Lambo is about $4,000 for Brits who only stay for a holiday period. I was scared not being able to get insured but all good there. Just scared of having nice cars in the UK and not being able to purchase the same in the USA. The only down side has to be a full purchase with no credit. Any large discounts to be had on exotic cars as a novice at that side in the US.

Insurance is not a problem here, but buying a car is. Without a social security number you cannot get credit, therefore no ability to lease a car. If buying outright no issue but what a complete waste of money. Where will you be storing the car(s), will they be on trickle chargers, do your properties have flood and hurricane insurance and i would have trackers installed too. Also you will want somebody to keep and eye on them and how will you get to your home(s) from the airport?
Simpler to rent. There are few decent roads in Florida, the speed limits are lowish and no corners. Trust me I live here and have driven all across Florida from Pensacola down to Key West. Get a big car, with decent air con, tinted windows and in white!!! Just worry about driving in the rain and if you purchase an exotic car who is going to look after it when you are 400 miles into Georgia or Alabama and you get a puncture???

Hi, I agree with a 4X4 but would love a exotic car for local with the weather. If we travel it would be by plane etc not by car. The home is secure and cars would be garaged and very safe in Keenes Point, Windermere. We have no option that to purchase outright as no credit history which is a shame. Hence me looking for UK or US people experience on getting discounts on these type of cars, so all help is appreciated !

Digging up this thread,
Have you sourced a car yet? If not my friend is the sales director for Lamborghini Carolinas. Although they are based in North Carolina they cam deliver to FL.
Let me know and I'll pass on his details.

Keenes point eh? My old stomping grounds... I used to live on the other side of Sand Lake rd. nice area, good pizza close by as well.
If you want a new Audi R8, you're paying sticker. I know some Audi people however... Availability is also not great on them, they're not sitting on the lots.
Évoque? Expect to be list or damn near it in Orlando. Shopping the dealers in South Florida might yield a better deal, but again, these aren't being given away either.
Gallardo? Get a used one and save a fortune. Failing that there's Lamborghini Orlando, and they do have a great service dept.
