Take car from UK to Canada

Hi
Has anyone taken their car from the UK to Canada as part of their permanent move to Canada? Is it easy to get insurance for a right hand drive car?

There are plenty of RHD cars over here; lots of Japanese JDM imports and some ex-UK. However, when you factor in shipping, taxes, out-of-Province safety inspections, insurance for a new Canadian driver in a funny RHD car etc, you'd have to really want to bring it here rather than just buy something when you get here. I didn't bother to bring mine with me when I moved as it would be completely unsuited to Canadian driving.

thanks thegreenhell....in fact, I contacted the border services agency who said that the car, being less than 15 years old, is not eligible for import. hence, will have to sell it and buy something in Canada
