How about Spain or the Canaries? Cheaper cost of living too.

I have been over in the States for nearly a couple of months recently and I was shocked at how expensive everything is apart from fuel, and that was before the pound tanked.

I would try and get a work visa. Prescott and Sedona are very nice desert towns that stay warm alk year round.

I've spent a long time in the mohave desert during the winter. Only nights get brisk and the stars are amazing to look at with no light polution.
