Car related things to see and do in Vegas / LA?

I'm planing a work subsidised jolly to the Sema show in Vegas later this year. Will probably stay there for a week or so if I can justify it with other car related "research" activities.

Quite fancy seeing some drag racing at the Vegas Speedway the weekend before Sema, but was wondering if anyone knows of any good car museums, events or shows that at worth seeing in early November?

Even stuff like where the best car graveyards are, the best car showrooms etc would be cool to know.

Not exactly car related, but the Hoover Dam is not too far away, interesting to see how the dam was built, some techniques were used for the first time during the build, for example like (I think from memory) chilling the concrete as it was poured to speed up the curing process....

I've been to the SEMA show the past two years and will be going again this year.

'Must sees' are the car museum at the Imperial Palace and the Shelby Factory at the Speedway. Showrooms worth visiting are the Exotic Autos at Caesars Palace, the Ferrari place at Wynn and Gaudins (Aston, Jaguar, Porsche) along East Sahara (past the Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Lotus, Mercedes dealers).
