He had his head put through a glass pane a few years ago whilst trying to restrain a patient. He was punched in the stomach so hard that he pissed blood.

He was working when Peter Sutcliff stabbed a patient with a pen, I seem to recall he stabbed him in the neck for some reason.

Lots of other stories but it would give the news of the screws a field day!

I understand what you are saying.

Just deleted an interesting tale. One only to be told in person and recounted second hand.

All NHS staff (I'm guessing this means private staff too) can't say a word about the scum, erm patients, they deal with.

I work in a "challenging area" and dispare for this world

eek

On the plus side they make me look great ! biggrin

although my spelling....... oops :- DESPAIR!

Wow. I remember hearing about this once or twice, sort of forgot about it. Just been researching it all and even listening to a clip of the alarms on Youtube. I find this sort of stuff absolutely fascinating. My Dad's just told me that they used to be able to hear it from the house when he lived in Camberley.

There are 10 sirens
1 in Bagshot (opposite The Cricketers)
2 in Bracknell (one at the station and one just off the IDR)
1 in Camberley (on top of the Main Square car park - you can't see it but you can certainly hear it!)
3 in Crowthorne (one at the station, one at the TRL and one at Broadmoor itself)
2 in Sandhurst (one at the Comprehensive school and one on a hill near the station)
1 in Wokingham (at a school on the A329 on the Bracknell side of the town).
This is an interesting read (I thought so anyway).

joined broadmoor angling club for this season,
Must admit I have not managed a night session yet,
Could be interesting waking to the Sound of the siren whilst laying in a canvas bivvy,
Just listening for the crunching of dry leaves and branches as I look for my torch..........

Reading this brings back some memories, grew up in Wokingham and lived not far from the Wokingham Siren which was in Joel Park.

Do they still have a football team? All the games are played at home apparently wink

TX.
A mate of mine worked for a letting agent and sent out invites to all their corporate clients asking if they wanted to play the letting agents team. Broadmoor replied and it was only when they arrived to play the match, that they realised they weren't playing the staff. As I recall the home team won.

Did anyone else notice that they did the alarms the wrong way round this morning? So now we haven't had the all-clear siren following the 'escape' alarm!

There is also one in Wokingham just outside Holt School, which is also on the A329 but towards Reading.

Top end of Joel Park.

Getting the sirens in the wrong order could be interesting. Recall years ago when vandals broke into one siren and set it off. The all clear couldn't be sounded as that would have to go through all the sirens. Panicky parents and teachers all round.

I'm pretty sure there is one on Longhill Field just outside Bracknell too. There definitely used to be and I'd not heard anything about it being shut down.

It's doing it again - definitely the all clear signal is being given first and then the two-tone warning alarm second. Does anyone know why they've changed the order?

serious ... they questioned me, then asked me if I'd seen anyone 'out of breath'

ETA I very much doubt if it has anything to do with Broadmoor, but there is certainly something going on
