What is it with the local authorities around here dumping tons of flipping granite on the roads without enough sticky stuff to hold em down. You go out on one of the best evenings of the year and get confronted with dust clouds and fecking flying projectiles in every frigging direction. How on earth does this benefit the roads. Why don't they just fill the ruddy potholes and be done with it!!  Rant over

For me it has been lots of the back roads around Windlesham, Longcross towards Staines and Chertsey. Basically all the roads i use to avoid the traffic on my commute.

It's here round Frimley way too. Roads seemed ok before to me. Surrey Heath borough council have got nothing better to spend the council tax on!

Gus,
After they did the Maultway, did you see the state of some of the cars on the entrance to my road.
I bet they are not happy, they are thick with dust......and with a hosepipe ban not easy to wash either.
I think the council should get the cleaning bill

Same thing has happened over the past couple of months on a lot of the minor roads around Berks, most of the loose stones have now been run right into the gutter but there are numerous huge patches where the chippings didn't stick to the tarmac creating 4 ft long holes in the surface.
I also noticed that rather than filling the pot holes in before adding the incredibly poor surface dressing, they simply laid the tar/stones over the top of the holes, making them hard to spot until you have crashed over the top of one!

The entrance to your road and my whole car park, my car was filthy with the dust, the only other place to park it was under a tree and then some bird shat on the windscreen. Also, to anyone that knows the junction of the Maultway and the A30 the corner there which is tight at the best of times was left covered in gravel for a week. Amazingly no one washed wide but seeing how quick some people (obviously not me  ) take that corner.

I'm not best pleased with it myself either at the moment. As the weather was nice today, thought i'd give my 205 GTI a run and enjoy a bit of a local drive and found that from the Johnsons Wax roundabout all the way to the next roundabout in Frimley Green itself was covered in the stuff. Then to make matters worse i decided to give the car a run to Guildford using the back roads via Pirbright, etc, and the entire stretch of the Pirbright Bends has been covered in the stuff as well. Really good with no road markings as it seems some people forget where the middle of the road is and cut the corners My poor little 205 GTI's paintwork has taken a battering, plus i had to spend ages picking bloody stones out of my new tyres when i got home. I knew that the Maultway had been done last week as i live there so did my best to avoid it by not entering Wellington Park via the Maultway but using the Portsmouth Road instead. If that's not bad enough i notice that they also have the yellow warning signs and 20mph signs already up on the Portsmouth Road as you come off the Ravenswood Roundabout to go towards Frimley and they also appear to have some 20mph signs strapped to the lampposts along some of Park Road from St Mary's up to the roundabout with Park Street, so i guess these roads are going to be given the same treatment before long too.

Hey Alex, long time no see mate  hows things? A large section of the B3270 was like that last year, took them ages to sweep the stones up. It is frustrating going slowly but even more frustrating to get someone whacking past in the oposite direction showering my car in stones.

Went down maultway back to yard in the 4 axle tanker Monday evening
Was like thick fog behind me ....
Didnt see any vehicles behind for ages and supprisingly no tail gaters...

I got caught out on the motorbike in Lower Earley last year when they were doing it. Off one roundabout and was fine, with no pre-warning signs. Too late before I realise what they've done. Next roundabout was lethal on the bike, with it all over the place. In the end I had to stop and spend 10mins picking the stones out from the tyres (bear in mind the tyres were supersoft). Took some photos, and complained to the council..... their reply was just that "you need to go slowly, as per the signs". It's bad enough the damage it does to the cars they just didn't understand that this type of work is simply too dangerous for some road users.

And from looking at the Maultway today and some of the Chobham Rd last night it's not helped. it's not as bad as the A332 last year but there are definite shiny areas where the stones haven't stuck properley.
FFS, all they really needed to do on the Chobham Rd was fix the massive pothole by the turn towards Vallywood. It was by no means the worst road in the area.

Hey Paul - Not too bad - had a bit of a health scare late 2010 into 2011, but all on the mend now and getting life back on track (hopefully). Poor old FRS hasn't seen the road since late 2010 due to the above although it's all insured - just got to find the desire to actually get it running / back on the road again  Haven't even been on the RSOC for the same time either so god knows what fun and games i've missed on there  You still running the Evo?

EDHC have covered the old A3/B2070 out of Liphook, except it's all dried up and piled up either side of the normal ruts/tyre tracks. It's so loose and dusty I had to close my windows, except my 3-dr hatch has those pop-out rear vent things too which I can't close whilst on the move, so all the dust came in through them as I kicked it up. Someone overtook me and showered my nice, shiny paintwork, and then I tried to take a right hand junction at 10mph and as I went over the pile along the centre lines, my car decided that turning was actually a little bit overrated. Hate when they do this.

ARGH - I found a section with it on the A318 near Addlestone while heading over to Brooklands yesterday. Decided to take a different route back as there were plenty of loose stones still.

There is around 2.5 miles of this on the A283 between Northchapel and Petworth. They had just started it on my drive to work the other day and i can say with some authority that when you hit the loose stuff that was laid about 2 minutes before at 60mph it is quite scary  (yes i ignored the signs and when i came around a corner i was on it before i could slow down)

 This has gone from a mild annoyance to pure hatred since i posted on friday, driving to work today with a biiig gap left to the car in front and a stone smashes into my screen leaving a lovely big chip. f  king brilliant.
