Can anyone recommend an in-car entertainment specialist to advise on and fit some component speakers & an amplifier for me having used them yourself?

I'm in Newbury so anywhere in the area - Reading/Oxford/Basingstoke/Swindon/Maidenhead/Bracknell.

Happy to travel for a great reputation.

Thanks

I used these guys a couple of years ago - they did a great job, very tidy and very professional.

TVS :

Did a CAT 1 alarm on my 348 a couple of years ago, and fitted Dension on my Cayenne this week (far quicker than I expected, and far cheaper than an audio shop had quoted me).

And note - he's mobile, which is very handy.

I cant tell you how dis satisifed I was with these guys.

Tried to up the agreed price after it was installed , scratched a leather seat , made a bit of a bodge all round , plus the original dash controls no longer worked properly .

Go there at your peril , especially if they are trying to finish early despite having booked the car in.

I should have gone to John Kleis but they were £20 dearer , bad decision / judgement on my part.

+1 for these guys. Was very impressed with the job they did on fitting a tracker on my car a couple of years back.

Oh, polar opposite from my experience!

Thinking about it I used them 3 or 4 years ago to fit an ice system to my Barchetta. The guy that did the job was a car nut and had a very bland looking Passat with about 10k of sound system in it!

I guess it depends on the fitter, but after the recommendations for John Kleis I would go there in the future....

Another vote for John Kleis.

Not the absolute cheapest you'll find, but you get a quality install.

I am booked in later today for an upgrade with John Kleis. They're having it for a couple of nights to replace the MB COMAND with a Kenwood double-DIN head unit, some Hertz speakers and amp. Will report back. Can't wait to have something more modern.

My motorhome is booked in with John Kleis on Thursday for a new Alpine heat unit, speakers and subwoofer.

Thanks for the reassuring words. I was really impressed with the way they handled my enquiry and questions.

Just as a side note, I went to see these chaps too as I am in Newbury. The guy was friendly and showed me around their unit with other jobs they had on the go. All looked like a professional operation.

In the end it just came down to price as John Kleis has a sale on, plus the recommendations earlier.

Just an update to add that I've just collected my motorhome from John Kleis and I'm really very happy with the job.

They needed mine all day. Arrow Self Drive are 50 yards down the road and I rented a delivery mileage Fiesta for £40 for the day.

JK did a really great job. Very neatly installed, beautiful sound and done by guys who were knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

Highly recommended.

Car back on Weds. Slight hiccup with the installation where my request for amp location was missed but they have acknowledged it and will correct. Also steering wheel control not quite right for track selection. Minor pain in having to go back to Reading

Very pleased with the speakers/amp/sub/HU - still bedding in but sounding better by the hour. Glad I can now listen to R6, R5, TalkSport on DAB and no more AM hiss and crackles!

Good service and a friendly bunch.
