I think chaos is pushing it a bit.

Signs
Those signs are different to the one on the 6 crossroads end. They are a single line, i.e no waiting, and state beneath them "Voucher Parking Zone - Mon - Fri 0830 - 1800".

So they just add further confusion to what is already a confusing piece of road.

To yet again add even further ridicule to it, have a look on googlemaps at those signs. In the summer, the entire sign including pole is totally and utterly submerged in trees and foliage, rendering them invisible anyway. If that wasn't enough, the one facing towards Byfleet has been turned 180 degrees to face the wrong way, meaning from Woking both signs are invisible and pointing the opposite way.

One is warning of parking restrictions in place.
The other is a flattened temporary sign that under NRSWA should be either replaced or removed.

But it is not signposted from the Woking end.

In addition, there are double yellow lines that run around 30 metres in length from the Woking end which finish and leave blank road (which is where the car's in this thread have been parking). If it was a properly and correctly signposted clearway, why would the council have needed to place a short section of double yellow's in by the roundabout at the Woking end?

I maintain, even if it is a clearway, that is not sufficiently signposted as such, rendering it unenforceable. This would appear to be the view of the council themselves too, judging by their decision to place a small section of double yellow lines at one end.
Seems clear to me. The Clearway runs from the six crossroads, the urban clearway from just before Boundary Road. The double yellows are in the urban clearway and so cover the times the urban clearway doesn't.

There are signs at the Woking end, the clearway applies to the whole of Victoria Way as well.

The only sign I can see at the Woking end is the "pointing in the wrong direction" / covered in foliage no waiting sign. There are around four seperate routes into and onto Victoria Way along that stretch of road which I would have thought would all need signs to re enforce the already existing clearway, if that is the case, and I can't see any.

I personally would have thought nothing of parking where those cars were, to me they seem to exploit quite a good little spot where parking is free.

I guess getting to the truth of the matter is like many of these scenarios, very complex, very griefy and a lengthy, possibly expensive route through the local courts. My view is that the area is nowhere near sufficiently signposted or clear to be able to enforce properly, or to defend a challenge by anyone who parks / stops there.

Can't see much wrong with that parking. I mean a fire engine could get past if it needed to, so no worse than a traffic calming measure.

Try and park there and see how you get on then. There are clearway signs at every entry joining Chertsey Road, Victoria Way and Lockfield Drive. They're all very clear, you can even see them all clearly on Google Streetview.

No, not like this one. I love R8's for the record they are stunning cars (This is a bit Essex though not my cuppa). But this thing has what I can only describe as a stainless steel straight through pipe fitted. He also drives around like an 18 year old in a corsa with a loud back box fitted. All the way through Woking I can hear him dipping the clutch and stabbing the throttle or leaving it in 2nd gear and accelerating to 7000 rpm, then back down again and so on so forth. It doesn't sound good it sounds terrible.
He was parked up in Woking town centre yesterday lunchtime, I was around the corner from it and could hear it being rev'ed for several minutes, surprised he hasn't got a "section 59"(?) against it for unsocial behavior with it.

Yeah I train at peak fitness (st gym dont go there) and see him parked outside MaccyD's on his phone quite often. You should hear him go under the bridge next to the new flats. He drove past me the other day while I was walking to the station on the phone and i had to stop speaking while he went past lol. Complete wker.

Lee still doing the rounds in Woking in his Audi. God it sounds bl%&*y awful to be honest. He sat at the lights and kept reving it whilst his pony tailed mate (in a people carrier) sat in the lane next to him and roared off when the lights changed.
He appears to be no spring chicken, I was sure it was going to be someone young behind the wheel but far from it when I looked!

Well I was beginning to wonder where the fker had got to. Its been quite peaceful this last week and ive not noticed him driving about.

But today he is back doing his rounds..........

Isnt it PH tradition to throw cans of red bull at R8 Drivers?

May wait outside for him to drive back round again.
