Looking to move to Ewell/Epsom - anyone got any comments on this area positive or negative? Have lived in New Malden and Isleworth in the past, now looking for something (even) more suburban with bigger houses/plots.

Dredged up this topic from a couple of years ago, which suggested some issues with pikies in the area. Is this a big problem, or is it only confined to certain areas?

Pikies aside, Ewell looks good for us. Easy commute to London Bridge or Waterloo, close enough to friends we have in Kingston and Surbiton, and good local state schools (have two boys, aged 3yrs and 3wks).

Ewell is lovely, situated a stones throw from Surbiton and Sutton but also leafy enough and close enough to the downs to provide your more rural feel. Epsom is your nearest town which is much better than it used to be and should cater for all your shopping needs. I grew up round there and would move back in a heartbeat.

I live in Banstead ,so close to Epsom Downs.

Pie people no more a problem than anywhere else locally tbh, they can turn up anywhere with an

unguarded open space.

Thanks for the comments. Have had our offer accepted on a house in Ewell. Area seems really nice, and the house prices haven't gone quite as mental as they have in the suburbs closer to central London...
