What the hell is going on with the North bound A34 -> M4 junction?

It's been abject misery since last Thursday - it's normally quiet.

I think they've been resurfacing it at night, and they mentioned the traffic lights on the radio each time it's been bad.

Any ideas? Why are they fixing it?

M4 between J12 and 10 has been terrible this week... possibly backing up to Newbury?

The lights on the roundabout are out of sync apparently, who'd think it would take over 2-3 days to fix though!

I don't get why they don't just turn the buggers off when they're causing that mayhem. It's still a roundabout!

I think they could turn most of the traffic lights off

There I live near the A322 south of the M3 J3
There are some twelve sets of traffic lights as well as three roundabouts in a two mile stretch

In SCC wisdom they have resett some lights, now tailbacks more or less all day

When ever we have a power cut and therefor no traffic lights
Magic, no traffic problems, and no accidents allong that stretch

Just goes to show what a wast of Time and Money they are

Ahh, that makes sense. What a fkin fk up. I've been heading up to the Compton turning then turning round and heading back - the South bound junction seems to be running a damn sight better!

Thanks chaps.
