Due to selling a house with a double garage we're losing the current storage for 2 cars and 4 motorcycles. Does anyone know of any secure, dry storage around the area, preferably Reading-ish area but I'm prepared to be flexible?

I know I want the moon on a stick but a dedicated unit would be preferable to a shared user environment.

All help gratefully received! Thanks smile

I think there may be some temporary issues with that place

I was told a few weeks ago that Richard Thorne had no storage space left for the rest of this year.

Joe333, not to take this thread away from the OP, but I called them last week and spoke to Sammy about storing my Mustang.

I'm going to pop along at a mutually convenient time for a pre-booking visit to see the place, on their suggestion.

I'd really appreciate to hear more from you about them, if you've the time. Here or PM, if that's OK.

Going back to Joe333's comment, we don't appear to have a car storage company database anywhere on here.

From the top of my head, there's the following places in the TVS area:-

1. Viable Logistics - Bordon
2. Garaged - Redhill
3. Richard Thorne - Theale
4. Universal Classics - Farnborough
5. Classic Car Safe - Newbury
6. Jordans - Guildford
7. Great Park Storage - Heathrow

Any others? There are undoubtedly others that are less well-known / advertised.

Please pardon if this is OT to the OP's questioning, but it appears this is a common question amongst us all and may support sidekickmr's thread on creating a PH-TVS unit.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I've got some ringing around to do.

Some of the places recommended are offering a more comprehensive service than I really want or need, ie, booking in process with photo record, full valet, tyres inflated to 50psi, starting every month, etc, etc. Of course all of these extras cost too.

For us, having 6 vehicles to store in a barn/unit/warehouse is more expensive because each vehicle is individually chargeable whereas having a dedicated unit would be a fixed cost irrespective of how many vehicles were stored.

Sidekickdmr's idea is interesting but it's obviously a bit more involved. Would be interested to see how it develops.
