Getting it off is one thing. Correcting any knife marks on the paintwork underneath is entirely another.

One of my neighbours spent 2 whole days earlier in the summer stripping the wrap off their car before it was due to be sent back to the finance company.

Judging by the amount of swear words uttered and the further whole day spent cleaning / buftying / detailing the car I got the impression either the original company who did the wrap hadn't done a great job and it required work to get the paintwork decent again, or that it was a bd of a job and he'd wished he'd paid the company to remove it hehe

Vinyl wrap is a pain to get off , plenty of hot water and endless pulling and scraping is needed no easy way of getting a wrap off

The longer the vinyl stays on the car the stronger the adhesive bonds get, even on vehicle grade vinyls.

You'll need a hair dryer or hot air gun and an awful lot of patience to get the wrap off. But it will work and shouldn't leave too much residue if you do it right. But you will probably still have to claybar the car after.

Depending on what vinyl has been used its can take a few hours (3M) to remove the entire wrap to a 4 days (hexes, spa ect)
If the wrap was done correctly then all the lights, handles ect will need to be removed as they should have been removed to wrap into and behind all the fixings.

Do you have any idea of who wrapped it as normally its a guide to what vinyl they use?

If the fitters have cut too deep it could cause the laquer to to lift if its ever had a touch up on the paint and you could be looking at costly paint afterwards.....

If you need any tips let me know!
