Heads up the Windsor Classic car show is Sunday 9 August 2015

Datchet Road
Windsor

Admission to the event to display is free

his event, now in its fifth year, will attract a variety of up to 350 vehicles from vintage and classic to custom and retros and an open top double decker bus which will transport visitors to and from Windsor town centre. This unique collection of vehicles is part of the famous International Charity Classic Car Extravaganza held each year on the Isle of Wight in September.

Went along to this earlier, not 350 cars there on display... more like 100. Still not bad for a free day out though.

A really good selection on display, was a little p1ssed off though, arrived in the Tf, all washed and polished, got told that I couldn't show the car, as I hadn't pre-booked, despite a friend who arrived 10 minutes earlier, also in a Tf, being asked to show his. One of a number of Mg's on display.

What time did you arrive? I got there about 11.10 & was initially directed into the public car park. Thinking 'whats the point in this?' I did a circuit & then just drove down the aisles of display cars & parked up. There were some Ferraris which arrived late coming in & then going out as there was no room to put them (although there could have been if they'd sited the cars better. All in all for a free show it was ok & I'd do it again.

Arrived just after 10. To be honest it did not seem very well organised, they parked the cars three rows deep, and when I came to leave, if I had not been lucky, I would not have been able to!
I remember seeing a Lotus Carlton, were you in that?

I don't know who organises it but I think its one of those shows that isn't marshalled by 'car people' so unless it's an obvious classic they don't know whether to let it into the main area or not. In the end I decided where I'd park. smile
