Just testing the water for hosting an event of this nature as I know there are a lot of nice cars in and around the St. John's area of Woking.

I have recently moved to the area and am managing the coffee house on the lye (Penny Blacks). For those who don't know the area, there is a large free car park, some other free parking bays and a side road with no parking restrictions. The earliest we can open is 7am, although we could also open for the evening if that is easier?
Sunday morning is what I'm thinking but if anybody is seriously interested then please discuss and we can go ahead with arranging a date!

Of course, coffee, cakes, bacon baps and sandwiches would be available!
Feel free to pop in and discuss this in person too, I work Wednesday-Sunday

I'd come and support something local even though I have moved slightly away from the area. There is another chap on here who has begun to resurrect the Virginia Water meets, also on a Sunday morning. It may be worth tying together to perhaps alternate venues.

Ok thanks for the info, hoping for a good amount of interest! Especially since I'd be getting up at about 5:45am haha.
There's space for around 40 cars in the bays and another 15-20 on the side road.

I'd be interested in this. Woking is only about 25 mins from me.

We could either do August 9th 7-9am to coincide with the Windsor Classic Car Show, or completely avoid that date?
Thanks for showing interest!

Based on absolutely no experience of these type of events ever... would it be an idea to set a date, time and location?

Often when organising stag do's etc in the past there is a better uptake when people are given a firm option rather than choices. Of course, it's likely I am completely wrong.

I'll turn up whenever I can.

I organised a weekend meet at a pub in Berks a few months ago. The only way to do it is just to set a date, time and location and hope people turn up. If you try to book a time & date according to how many people can turn up you will spend all your time reorganising and it will never happen.

I've just moved around the corner in Brookwood and would be interested in coming along.
My advice:

- Set a fixed date, if people make it, they make it
- Set another location as well. I.e. meet at yours for bacon butties, drive to newlands corner for ice creams!
- Stop off somewhere on the way back for a beer, i.e. The Nags Head at Knaphill or similar.

Whatever happens, I'd be interested however, I'll be in a crappy diesel!
