Best tyre prices?

There's a small chain called Value Tyres, which I have just used. Take a print off from Black Circles etc, they will match the price and also give you free puncture repairs as well for the life of the tyre. They can order any tyre and the guy local to us is an Evo owner as well. Also they were very careful with the work they did and lots of nice quality fitting equipment to boot. Branches , I believe in Fleet, Basingstoke and my local in Thatcham.
For the last 10 or so yeas I always found Martins Tyres to be cheapest whenever I rang around so used them exclusively.
But I had some wheels refurbed recently and in conversation the valeter recommended ALS Tyres who have 4 sites locally (Bracknell, Bagshot - can't remember the other 2).
Anyway I called them this morning and on a pair of 245/40 x 17 Pirellis they were within £2 a tyre compared with Black Circles, but with the added bonus they will also come to you so I am getting them done Thursday while I am at work - result!
To be fair I haven't tried Martins this time because of the convenience factor, but I doubt they would be significantly cheaper anyway.

Bad experience with Tyre leader. Yes the tyres were cheap, but DPD delivery company lost (stole) them and it took nearly 2 months to get a refund from Tyre leader.
So like all things, it's good if it goes to plan, but a pain in the arse if it doesn't.
I'll use Event tyres from now on. Slightly dearer but fitted at work so no waiting around.

That sounds incredibly unlikely. You must have made a mistake with tyre model or something. Martin's Tyres are the cheapest in the area AND you pay the price they quote, valves and balance are included in their price. Yes you can buy tyres online but delivery charges and valves and balance almost always makes it more expensive.
I have used Martin's Tyres since the early 80s and they have always been extremely good value and very helpful. Plus they are always happy to fit a tyre you have bought elsewhere for just a Tenner! I try not to do that, but if you want a tyre they don't sell (I'm incredibly fussy about my tyres - I'm talking about high-performance cars) then you can source your tyres somewhere else and take them there. But they will have something in stock that will fit your car at a price that fits your budget. They can also get most non-stocked tyres very quickly if you phone in advance.
Apart from that you can just turn up and you will be finished and gone in a few minutes. Try doing that at Kwik-Fit! I no longer live in the area and my local tyre place told me they were very busy and I would have to leave it with them and come back in 3 hours or so. Um. No, I won't. I will just drive the 15 miles to Martin's tyres and it will be done in minutes and a lot cheaper.

Martin's really are fantastic. I struggle to work out why they get it so right and yet all the main chains get it so wrong. I've been using them for years as have my family, a few friends, and my girlfriend. Never a single issue, never a single damaged wheel or overtightened wheel nut. Just consistently excellent service.
