To the west of 'The Nags Head' in Knaphill there is a piece of land......

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/The+Nags+Head/...

Anyone know if there are any plans to build here. Its designated as both a flood plane and recreational land in the 1999 local plan, Cala Homes recently built on an area designated 'housing' on the plan. I know there were plans to build a road along it, perhaps to replace Bagshot road, but I read these were scrapped years ago.

Seems unlikely, but PistonHeads knows all smile

Be grateful for any info if anyone knows anything about it....

There is a lot of land round there that is hard to get info from. Cala seem to have done the're work there and the fact they didn't expand into that green belt tells me they couldn't.

Brookwood / Pirbright have some serious green belt that is almost impossible to get the hang of.

Well I've done some more reading. I've emailed the council and had my question passed to the planning dept.

Down Bagshot road adjacent to said field there are various buildings like the ambulance station, BT building and the Nags Head Car Park that were mooted for housing development but all were overturned for one reason or another. The land itself I suspect is Site of Scientific interest. There is also a flood plane running through the middle of it. Not that that would make any difference. i am sure if they want to build on it they will. We will just have to move house again as I really dont want a bloody road (busy one at that) running through those fields.

On the other side of the road the Sainsbury's and some of the associated housing on the St Johns side is already on what was flood plain.

I remember riding my bike as a kid on those parts and how muddy and waterlogged it would get for many weeks and months of the year. My parents used to work at the old hospital site and many people forget how many patients were there.
