Following on from this thread....

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I'm on the hunt for a Renault Clio MKII 2001-2004, dark blue in Dynamique spec, similar to the one in the pic (not THAT car, ignore the plate).

It was involved in a hit and run on Highgate Lane, Farnborough, sometime on Saturday night, leaving a mates Kia 4x4 with very bent suspension, see second pic. The Clio will have substantial damage to the front near side corner.

It left enough parts at the scene to be able to identify the model.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Not really any help but I cycled along Highgate Lane on Saturday evening at about 20:50 heading towards the Prince of Wales pub from the Town Centre I then returned at 23:20 or thereabouts.

I don't recall seeing any debris in the road on either journeys. Given I was on my bike I generally have my eye out for stuff that might give me a puncture.

Will keep my eye out on my travels.

Cheers...

I walked back up Highgate Lane from the POW at a similar time to you (23:20), and I don't recall seeing the car like that - pretty sure I would have noticed.

Andy (the owner) came to collect it Sunday lunchtime which was the first we knew of it.

.. To add, might be worth keeping an eye on eBay and gumtree for an easy trace. Hope he finds the car and owner,

Cheers folks... unfortunately it now seems the Clio could be anywhere.

After ttting the Kia, it appears it wasn't drivable, so was abandoned there also. It was then collected by a tow truck in the early hours of Sunday morning. A local resident saw it being collected, but didn't note down the name on the recovery truck or the Clio number plate.
