Sister in law going to change her car and want to take easy way out and trade in her car a 12 year old 1.3Yaris 1 owner just over 20k miles yes that's correct 20k miles

I'm suggesting sell private and buy pre reg or big discount from dealer

Question is how do you value that age and low mileage?

At that end of the market the trade will hammer you on price and you'll not see any real benefit from the low mileage. At a guess they will try punt it at £1500-1750, meaning you'll be offered £750 tops (which is fair considering their costs and risk). Reckon you'd get £1250-£1500 in a private sale easily. Ebay might be a very good punt as ebayers love low milage cars like this - start an auction at £500, time it to end during the drunken hours and you might be surprised how high it goes.

You might be surprised at what these go for. I had a quick check on Autotrader. Uncle Arnold has a 2004 1.0 advertised for 2700.

Sell the car. Use taxis for town and Hire a car for "longer" trips. She has only averaged approx 32 miles a week. I don't see the point in having a car wasting away.
