Just remembered this. Company I did some work for between the tours, and the driver walked away with minor injuries believe it or not.
Crikey. Is there much rollover protection in a tractor unit, or is everything above the windshield glassfibre or equivalent?

Pretty much just plastic and glass, I guess it is so manufacturers can keep vehicle weight down thus making a more attractive purchase for potential buyers. I couldn't swear to this as I've been out of the game for 2 years now, but i'm pretty certain that these days with tractor units , (the truck cab) in the event of a big accident the cab is designed to part company from the chassis.

There's a couple of posts on Ford related pages that suggest the driver worked for FoMoCo as one of their fleet of drivers doing the Newport - Essex run. By all accounts it sounds like he was a very much liked colleague and will be missed by a lot of people frown

I went past yesterday and it was a Ford lorry. There were engines all over the road, trailer was full of them.
