Those of you who use this junction frequently will be familiar with the little VW Polo thats been seemingly abandoned in a lay-by on the northbound A3 off slip to M25 for quite some time.

It's been there for weeks, had it's windows smashed and wheels nicked so now looks in a very sorry state.

This isn't a complaint directed at the resident BiB, Im more interested in the reasons why it's still been allowed to remain there, abandoned for as long as it has?

I also remember a Vauxhall MPV thing that sat in the lorry parking area between the two J9 Leatherhead roundabouts, it sat for months being slowly dismantled by whoever.

How do these cars get left like this?

Because it's taxed and insured. It will be a local authority issue and not a Police issue now.

If you look through the Surrey RPU tweets, you'll see what happened with the driver.

The smashed rear window was like it when it arrived at that location. As Furry says not down to Bib it's a HE/Council issue.

(I'd imagine that now it's missing wheels, it will be removed quicker!!)

Yeah it's been there over a month now. I noticed the wheels had gone! Needs to be dragged to the scrapyard.

What did happen with the driver? I can't find anything. I was curious too when I saw it the other day!

I often wonder about this car; I don't go on the M25, I go over it on the A3 towards Cobham, I didn't notice it this morning but I guess as I'm so used to it now, it doesn't stand out.

Yes, what happened to the driver?

There is a free caravan going on at the A320 J12 South layby if anyone needs new digs. It is a roomy deluxe model with A/C, so perfect for summer

I can't find the tweet. It's been to court etc, so I guess there is no issue in stating that it was a drink driver.

I did suspect as much! So they were arrested and such, and their car was just left there? They didn't want it back?!

They obviously have no need for the car anymore, so couldn't be bothered to retrieve it
