Hi guys. thinking of moving here for a few years. Had a look round last weekend and lunch in the Crown Hotel.

What do I need to know about the place?

I work up the road, just next to St Peters hospital & live in Woking. Nice area, not really seen or heard of anytihng particularly bad.

I used to live in Egham and went to or through Chertsey from time to time - it seemed OK to me.

Not heard anything bad about it, but I think there are one or two areas that can be prone to flooding so probably worth checking the Environment Agency website for anywhere you are interested in.

Flooding. On a particularly bad stretch of the m25 too. Fairly sleepy place. Train links are crap if you need to commute into London.

I live down the road in Staines. It's just as bad really (but train links are a lot better), but I'm probably going to settle here permanently (moved down 3 years ago, bought a flat here a year ago).

FWIW I would rather live in Chertsey than Staines especially if train travel isn't an issue, as Staines also has flooding issues! (In common with most places around that part of the Thames)!

Just a heads-up OP, but don't even consider Datchet - it's cheap for a reason!
