Decent Food Wantage / Faringdon?

I will find myself around Wantage ish next week, and it'll be convenient to stay overnight. I'm lookinf for somewhere to stay, and also for a decent dinner. I would expect Oxford to offer the best options, but any and all suggestions welcome.

The bear and ragged staff towards the Oxford end of a420 at Cumnor is good for food and offer a place to stay. Not that much in Wantage itself which offers both. The bear hotel in Wantage might be worth a look but I could recommend it as not eaten or stayed there myself.

Thank you. Something else had come up which changes my plans a little, so I've got a hotel in the centre of Oxford.

At least it means that somebody else will be paying for my dinner. Yay!
