Yes, I stopped there.
I now know that "Hawley Meadow" is open as usual, which I would not have known otherwise. So don't knock it.
Information for the local "d0gging" community perhaps?

I see - must be a campaign to turn "sh*tty Surrey" into "Sh*gging Surrey"!

Although I still think it's an utterly pointless waste of money - I had to drive down the A331 at the weekend, for the first time since the roadworks started and I've realised that for me personally, there is a positive.

Sometimes I only fancy going for a short-ish run, so head down Frimley road, down the A30 and loop back through Stanhope road - but that really is a little too short.

Now, I have a nice pavement that will take me from the A30 up the A331, and I can either loop through Watchmoor Park - or better, go through the park at the back of Sainsbury and get back to Frimley road.

Very thoughtful of the council I think.... wink

I remember Chris Tarrant saying on his breakfast show many years ago that Camberley was the swinging capital of the UK!

Damn, I've been missing out! I knew Camberley must have something going for it...

Finally got to experience the new surface on the American Golf r/bout earlier today. How nice to be able to go around there without having to weave to avoid the potholes, cracks, etc smile

One thing didn't surprise me however - with all the tarmac they must have had available, no one had the common sense to go and repair / fill the massive fissure that has been opened for months on the Maultway that is probably only about 1 metre away from where they actually surfaced up to rolleyes

On the subject of the 331 - the pavement seems to be coming along well, tarmac down on a fair stretch of it now - maybe they'll actually be finished to schedule at this rate hehe

They should however put the fake CCTV threat sigs on The Meadows r/bout instead as that's the area where people are still blocking like morons banghead Plus if they did install some cameras there they'd probably be making a fair bit of revenue right now with the amount of people jumping red lights at will.

Took me over half an hour to get from M&S to Junction 4 this morning.
The reason? On a three lane part near Sainsbury's lane one was blocked as it has been for a while, but so was lane 3.
Lane three was blocked (on both sides) to protect the workforce, who were standing on the other side of the central barrier.
When I made a comment as I passed, they just laughed.
Nice.

I went past the protracted road works on the road by Longcross, two way lights been up for ages
to construct a junction.
Shouted to them to get a wiggle on as they were just standing about in two large groups.
2nd group got full blast from side mounted air horns - made them fking jump big time. wink

The A331 from M3 to The Meadows has to be one of the biggest F*ck-ups in an area with a glowing history of ineptitude!

Came up the A331 last night at about 10 pm (because the M3 was shut AGAIN)!

Stopped at the lights for Sainsburys so nobody could leave the store/garage, then stopped again at the temporary lights so all those (absent) night workers could leave Watchmoor Park, then waited for any d0ggers from Hawley Meadows (they must have all been stuck in though), then stopped again for all those leaving the industrial estate with Tool Station, ECP, Screwfix, etc. but there was none! I expected nothing else, so why do those who allegedly "plan" these events have no understanding of what they are doing?

Still I was able to stop at another red light at the Meadows roundabout long enough to consider the meaning of life, and conclude that in this area there is none if you ever need to go anywhere!

But then I still had the challenge of getting home! As right-turns from the A3095 North-bound aren't permitted at Rackstraws I sailed round the Tank Lane/Laundry Lane side of Tescos, well at least until I got to the Berrybank junction where I was allowed the privilege of looking at the local flora and fauna (you know, the chain-link fence with razor wire on the top) because there was F-all traffic) but more temporary lights, despite there being no other traffic in any other direction!

I can only imagine that those who plan or agree to these schemes either never go out or don't live anywhere near the area affected as it is a miserable experience! Or maybe they just don't want locals to go anywhere, because it is a major PITA at present! Perhaps the concern is that if we ever manage to escape from here we may discover that it is better anywhere else - it certainly can't be worse! ranting

God knows what they've been doing today but I gather it's been pretty bad all day with queues in all directions.

When I popped into Sainsbury's around midday there was already a big queue starting back from the Riverside Way lights towards the M3 r/bouts and as far as I could see there was no traffic coming from The Meadows direction as there was nothing at all stopped at, or approaching, the Sainsbury's lights both when I turned in and when I left 30 minutes later. So either they'd cut that stretch back to just 1 lane, as was mentioned previously the other day, or was it closed for traffic completely?

Looked online and it sounds as though the end result was The Meadows r/bout being completely clogged in all directions both into Blackwater, Sandhurst, Camberley, etc.

Maybe during the late night early hours of the morning, the lights could be faulty? and then treated as a giveway and proceed with caution rolleyescool

A couple of interesting snipprt from the SCC website:
Travel update 11 November: we are making every effort to reduce congestion around Blackwater, Camberley and Frimley by working closely with our site supervisors, our contractors and monitoring the situation hourly. We are working as quickly as possible to reopen the current lane closures.
Unfortunately if there is an accident or breakdown in the area, this will have a huge impact on the traffic flow and we have found that the smallest of problems can quickly escalate into considerable delays. Works are progressing well and are one week ahead of schedule.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and ask that you please bear with us during these improvement works.

Lane closures: 26 September 2016 – 3 December 2016. The end is in sight...

At least this week there won't be any issues locally.

It's not like they are shutting the M3 both directions from 2 - 3 or anything?
banghead

Quins away at Leicester - fk the M3 - there will be nothing smart about it and will continue to use back roads.

I do hope the MAMILs and spandex wearing lot do use the cycle lane they are putting down the side of the 331 and causing this mayhem otherwise its going to be a total waste of money and time.

I will be shouting at them if I see them on the road 3 abreast chatting and cursing drivers.

I am totally avoiding the area unless its not in rush hour as its manic down there. its a real pain in the ass.

Hawley is getting blocked up now which is really annoying.

I live in Hawley and it's driving me nuts. Even Hawley Lane is now jammed and there's not even any respite over the weekend as it's just as packed all around the local area. I made the mistake of trying to get to the M3 using the A331 this morning (Hawley Lane was blocked due to a broken down near Screwfix) and it took 15 minutes just to get around the Meadows! Why they need to start the lane closure actually on the roundabout is beyond me, particularly as the work is being carried out way down the A331.

Right, in your dreams!

MAMILs will purposefully avoid any lycra lane because it doesn't cause enough disruption to suit their need for self-aggrandisement!

Still, one cyclist a year is surely a good enough reason for a 40 (or is it 50?) limit on what used to be a road with a 70 limit - now just tell me where that cyclist lives........!

This area is becoming such a miserable Sh*thole I'm wondering if it is even worth getting up (actually it isn't)!

I wonder if this has anything to do with the new proposed Sainsbury's superstore (on the site of the current one) which was proposed a few years ago? Without this path, there was no way for pedestrians to get Sainsbury's

That depends where they're coming from. There is a park behind Sainsbury with a bridge over to the supermarket so anybody on the Camberley side can walk there.
