Wandered past the Madejski this evening, tons of jap cars there, some decent motors.BUT as I came back round the roundabout to go up towards the motor way I was at the front of the lights next to a supra with a chimney big enough to get my head into.So just had to give him a go....green light..took him..then he woke up his turbo, and was off and gone. But I was away quicker than a supra in wifes Passat 4 door family saloon off the lights...(200 horses petrol though) Shame I didnt have the GT3

This is a weekly static meet in Reading for Jap cars. There's some decent tin down there but also a lot of the max power dross.

Just unfortunate you couldn't go head to head with the GT3 - although methinks Darren would have been somewhat more reluctant to play.

There's a monster R34 Nur that goes down there, very fettled.

It's every month I think - i'll get the dates posted on here.

Darren was a term for some of the 'heaps' that turn up to this.

There are some very nice cars there with $$$$$'s spent and on the other hand, there will always be the cars that will at some point, ruin the meet for everyone with reckless driving, etc at the meet.

As far as I understand this is 'allowed' to happen as it's organised and a static meet.

Do you bloody well mind?! I've never owned a slow Japanese car (apart from the first one I bought as a student runaround).

Apologies - no offence meant. I could just as easily have chosen Kev, Wayne, etc and probably stirred up someone else's hornets nest.

It's a colloquial term at best.

Also, they're not always slow, I've been embarassed by a sleeper civic before with a supercharged K20 under the hood.

No problem fella.
Anyone fancy meeting at the next one? 18th Sept?

There's a few pubs nearby as well on the other side of the M4.

I've been going to this for a few years now.

It's good as it doesn't have people ragging about in the carpark. It's self policing, if you drive like a plank, someone will come over and "have a word".

As it's a "japanese" meet, you'll get everything from Aygos to Supras, Micras to R34s.

She is due for a bit of work (new pads, oil change etc) but I'm too busy sliding it about for that at the moment.

I go from time to time , the idiots are putting me off a little though , only a matter of time before the Police take an unhealthy interest.

I'll be there on the 18th Sept
