Thanks for coming everyone, that was a top day out!
Steve - sorry we lost you and hope you ended up having a good day.
I didn't look all day, however I'm sure the little 1.8 in my car shouldn't manage an average of 19.6mpg over around 180 miles and ~4hours driving
Good effort for nobody driving into the back of me - Dave!
I shall be shortly heading towards my car with a very large hammer to have words about the 3 bloody faults it seems to have developed in the last few days.

We did hang around a fair bit, I kept holding back from the lead 5 cars to try and let everyone catch up
Cheers guys - that was a very enjoyable morning! Great to meet you all. Thanks for the route planning - some great roads.
Dave, the sound of your tvr accelerating up the A3 on the way home is still ringing in my ears!
Stevie - sorry we lost you. When I couldn't see you in my rear view mirror we did all wait, but somewhere along the way must have taken a different turn.

Just wanted to repeat what the others have said. Thanks to the organisers of this run and thanks to everyone else who each helped make this run as good as it was. Was good to meet some more people from the area.
Sorry to hear we lost someone, we did wait a while. I think this shows the importance of having the walkie talkies. Can't wait for the Wales run

not your fault, i was stuck behind the cars you overtook but you were disapearing into a set of corners so couldnt overtake...The moral of the story is to make sure enough people have enough other people's mobile numbers and have the hands free kit to use them....
I'm always surprised at how few people get dropped on these runs considering - especially getting everyone down to Cornwall in one group - but maybe if we're going to do seriously twisty 'b' road and below type itineraries in the future, we should take it in turns to go out and mark up the route with little dayglo arrows before the actual run? There's enough of us who turn up for these that if we split the work, you'd probably only end up doing the pegging once every couple of years!

Top Hoonage everyone!!
I wasn't convinced when I got up at 6am, nor even at Ockham Common!, but what fantastic weather, fantastic roads and a fantastic breakfast!
Simon and I lost the main convoy after about 2 min, but after a brief stop followed the tomtom itinery, so completed the full route and had a spirited mini convoy of our own !!
Looking forward to the next one already!!

Well it was worth getting up at 9 and trundling down to Portsmouth for a coffee and a couple of slices of toast.....then bashing back to VW for the BMW meet, then off to Vixpys for a session on the rolling road......who says a 'parrafin' powered 5 has no go.......Robatron has a video of what it can Proper day out, thanks guys, who is looking forward to the Wales run? :hehe?
