[cat amongst the pigeons] Course Pete you know what you really want to do, sell the 911 AND the Ginnetta. Maybe you need a better "toy" and a lesser "daily smoker" - the cars you are looking at maybe aren't doing it for you because for £10k+ they are not proving that exciting.... a smoker at £3-5k doesn't need to earn your respect quite so hard (not saying buy a dull car, still lots of fun to be had in the cheaper market as you know) when cheaper they are easier to forgive the failings and leave you to enjoy the good bits... then chop the G and add the difference to get something like this

or a bonkers Caterfield/Exige/Early Atom?

biggrin

Sinc, it's a nice idea.

I have alwasy wanted a G33 though, and i really do like it. I can see lots of plans for it long term (respray, possible engine switch to SBC, stuff like that) and having hankered after one for so long i plan to keep it. Having also had a bike engined car (which i thoroughly enjoyed) i know the v8 roadster is much more me. If i replaced the G33 for something else it would likely be an Aero 8, but i can't see that happening for a long time.

As for the daily driver, i considered a cheaper daily hack (an E320 coupé for example) but i think i'd get bored of it too quickly. I don't need to free up the capital in the 911 either, so if i thought it was worth spending more then i would, but in all honesty the primary purpose of this daily driver is to get me from Bracknell to Maidenhead and back during the week, and the odd 100/200 mile motorway schlep at the weekend maybe every other weekend.

Quite a conundrum is it not?

I saw a C4 in Slough today...with a roof rack. Not even the type used for a kayak/bikes etc. Looked cool all the same.

I haven't read all the posts yet but would agree that there are plenty of decent estate cars...particularly at your budget yes

I use my roof rack plenty - mountain bikes, washing machines, and even when i bought a second set of 18's for the car! :-)

Dunno yet, what are you thinking?
(They are 7.5 x 18 front, 10 x 18 rear - i went for the 7.5 front 996 fitment because it's lighter than the 8.0 front 993 fitment...)

Do you know the offset? I have a feeling the rear wheels *may* be too wide for my car. frown

Front offset will be around 50 i think the rears i know for a fact are ET65. Rears for a wide body car (2S, 4S, turbo) are ET40 if that's any help.

Hmmm, let me get back to you on this one! biggrin

I have a feeling it would require me to fit RS2 hubs, if this can be done cost effectively then I may well take these off of you. smile
