I went to have a look at a kickboxing class in Henley yesterday but, is seemed to be primarily for kids which I was hoping to avoid.

Does anyone know of /attend any good clubs locally? I would be happy to try some fighting style other than kickboxing as the my primary goal is fitness but, this would certainly be my preference.

Yep, I've been to that class too and didn't think much of it! Not aware of any other clubs locally but would be interested in joining you if you find one. I'm supposed to be climbing a mountain for my 30th birthday early next year and need to get fit !

Are you still going to LA Fitness?

I will speak to Soke Brian Dossett. He runs several clubs and his son was heavyweight champion until he retired to start cage fighting.

His clubs (from memory) will be in the sheerwater/woodham area but I can double check and let you know.

I stopped going to LA Fitness a while back actually as I injured my shoulder and didn't want to throw my money away whilst I couldn't go. Shoulder is better now so, I've set up a gym at home which is working better for me now.

I did a bit of further investigation re: the kickboxing earlier today and found out there is a club at Rivermead leisure centre on Thursdays. I'm away next week but, was going to check it out the following Thursday if you're interested?

Would appreciate it if you could as the Rivermead club may not be very good.

I am not to sure what club it is but a chap on surreyscoobies is doing kick boxing even though it is ment to be non-competitive the last fight he done a competitor was taken off with a dislocated/broken jaw.

I will try and get the club name!

Thanks for all the responses. I went along to rivermead last night and really enjoyed it. Friendly bunch of people as far as I could tell. Will certainly be sticking with it for a while to see how I get on.
