Does anyone know of a decent mobile mechanic who will come to your house to fix a vehicle in Woking?

Lisa's boot flew open on the M3 as the catch has busted, and now as a result of that the battery is screwed, so we can't move it.

Tried jump starting it, no joy.

Dizee, don't know of any mobile mechanics in your area (or mine for that matter) but I'm guessing when the battery drained, it may have had an effect on the immobiliser. Is there anything in the handbook - a resetting procedure?
Had the same thing on a merc of mine and you know what these Germans are like? For you tommy, the driving is over!

My thoughts too, do you get any lights up on the dash?

OK,

Boot catch has been screwed for a while and the boot was insecure causing the boot to fly open on Sunday eve.

Anyway, having got the car, a Rover 25 home, the boot was masking taped shut and left. When Lisa went to use the car this morning, she saw the boot light was on as the catch was obviously open. Anyway, car wouldnt turn over and battery dead.

So today I have been looking at it. The car unlocks on the fob still, the interior light comes on anf the dash lights up, but when you turn the key it just clicks about 10 times a second. Occasionally it coughs as if it wants to at least try and start, but then after repeated attempts it just keeps clicking.

I have spent copious time trying to jump it, used all the tricks on the book but nothing. I noticed the positive terminal is covered in white powder and a mate reckons this means the battery is knackered. But the battery has been fine up until now?

Its doing our head in as she needs it to go to work (and I couldn't cope with her using mine to get to and from work in, without the car I feel naked, and besides it would get dirty :hehe)

Tea and possibly money offered in exchange for help smile

Ok take away the p1)s that could be ripped out of you about vauxhall and rover!
If your battery is around 3 years old its knackered, the white residue is signs of aged battery and poor maintenance.
Go to halfords and buy a battery problem solved. the battery you have will not hold a charge as its got a fubard cell or is just knackered. any amount of slaving will not work, a start and charge may do it but it won't run for long as it won't charge quicker than the coil etc draws the power.
New battery mate

I reckon you could get it started if you leave it connected directly to your car with your engine running. The cold weather probably hasn't helped, but how long were you leaving it before trying to start it?

When I managed to flatten my battery at heathrow (don't ask) it took another car being directly connected to the battery about 15mins before mine had enough power to actually start.

Diz it's just a low battery (I'd put money on it) connect it up to yours and leave it for a few minutes and try starting.
