On Tuesday in Yateley: a quick glance of the receding rear end of a black, open-top, old-style sports car, reminiscent of a D-type Jag. Anyone have any idea what it might be?

It couldn't possibly be this one, could it?

We talking about a "long Tail" GTR - if so, lucky man. I've only ever seen one in racing colours in the FIA GT series late 90's.

I doubt it was a long tail. Don't think any have been converted for road use.

There's a few road going orange GTRs though, including Mr Bridger's old car.
