...that I didn't take the M5 or Passat this morning.

She did scratch the tow bar though, which I'm a bit annoyed about!

Best bit was her denying liability and saying it was my fault for stopping when the traffic in front of me stopped! Soon changed her tune when the digital camera appeared... hehe

Ahh the outstanding build quality of Peugeot shines through again!

Very lucky there John - would have been terrible if it were the Beemer. Reminds me of my sister who managed to drive into the back of a hurst in a funeral procession!!!

Sadly, I think the young girls car will be written off. V reg 206 1.4, and that repair would be into the thousands I should think? Loads of liquids on road from her car, including engine oil...

Had something similar last week at Heathrow, one of the Phantoms stopped at the lights and a courier van didnt! One new RR bumper, one new van needed!

But I'll bet your bumper costs more than a new van?! hehe

Hope you're OK John.. you never know, maybe a touch of whiplash in the morning... and if the wife's not up for that you can always go to work biggrin
Might be worth getting someone to check the car over tho. I had what I thought was a minor shunt some years back on the M3 and although there didn't appear to be any damage, when I got to work, I couldn't open the boot and on further inspection, the floor pan had creased!! Fortunately I did take the other parties details so not a problem. It would appear that the Pug's crumple zones absorbed all the energy but better to be safe than out of pocket.

Wise, wise man. Having the presence of mind to get photographs - very good. You may need them yet if her insurance Company doesn't roll-over after she spins them some cock and bull story because nothing could possibly, actually BE HER FAULT. rolleyes

Lord knows what she'd have told them if she wasn't aware you had gathered evidence of what actually happened!

I'm pleased you are OK and your vehicle looks undamaged. Do get it checked as others have said...if you need it sorted later out why should you have to pay for it!

My concern is that even though the tow bar took the impact, the bonnet hit the spare wheel on the rear door. Also the tow bar is connected directly to the ladder chassis so that will need a full inspection as well. Had a look underneath and nothing seems to have moved though. And the drivers electric window has stopped working!

The tow bar punched through her radiator, fan and into the engine - didn't appear to damage the block but oil was pouring from somewhere!

Anyway - car being collected in next couple of days for full inspection at Land Rover and apparently they will replace it for the time it is away for a like-for-like car... So, anyone fancy some off-road hooning in a Disco 3? hehe

Glad your ok chap, personally, the damage to her insurance is done as she has written her car off in clean cut case so I'd go for gold an get replacments all round, why take the chance.
