Just for anyone that's interested, one plan is to keep my car with a few mods and then buy a Cerbera as soon as i can afford somewhere around here with a garage and keep both, but I guess that still makes me a

A few things to be clear on gents hehe

I'd rather keep my car than have to drive to work everyday in something shit, can't have two cars until I can afford to buy somewhere with a garage and couldn't be bothered using a second car if I had to drive to get to it.

I will not be getting a FWD car unless it's an original ITR. Full Stop. I also don't agree that a 182 / whatever is more fun than my car to drive.

It needs to be comfortable enough to do trips like the one last year and whatever might be coming up this year which again rules out things I don't really fit in etc.

E36 M3 (especially the 3.0 version) - more robust, more fun, and quicker than your car, no more expensive to run, and cheaper to buy. And rwd with a fantastic 24 valve straight six.
Good for work, good for europe, good for breakfast trips, etc.

Keep the S3 on a the use you have it works ans spend the money on Suspension, Steering, and a bigger turbo DP etc, FMIC with remap, you could add a cage and have a light smoke tine on the rear three to hide it.

Benefit of the S3 has to be the almost static depreciation

That goes out the window when you mod it though.

Typically two identical cars but one has been modded in the ways you describe, the standard car is worth more and there are more people looking to buy a standard car.
So not only do you lose the mod money, but you reduce your target audience when you come to sell. Been, done, bought the t-shirt (at great expense!).

Mine is already (very slightly) modified and doesn't have the original engine though pete, so I suspect it'll be a total bastard to sell especially when you look at the colour.

Good idea to get out while you can then - or keep it as is rather than spend more cash on it and save up for your next ride...

I like the colour so if I keep it it'll be staying yellow, thanks for all you're input guys, it's made me have a serious think again.

Will have to see what happens on Monday when the cambelt is done.

Well if you fancy a very nice, totally reliable and standard Milano DC2 'teg to tide you over Ben (until the promised land of garages and TVR's welcomes you with open arms) let me know - For the right offer i'd let mine go.

Other than that i'd say E30 M3, a black leather jacket, 'tache and a mullet. Sorted!
