unmarked police cars

Hi all,

0815 this morning. M4 J11 heading london bound.
Saw blue lights in my mirror a long way off, and could see people clearing the outside lane for a very fast Police car. Then all of a sudden a Mini Cooper S with hidden blues comes flying past at easily 120mph. I have never seen a Police car travelling so fast in real life. He was gone in just seconds. Then maybe 30seconds behind him comes a high top white dirty unmarked Merc Sprinter van (with hidden blues on) doing i would estimate approx 110mph. He was absolutely hauling ass. Had to have been tuned up to go that fast for a van.

Left me wondering what that was all about. Maybe some kind of training session ?.

Wouldn't think so, all our vans will do 100-110 mph.

Doubt it's traffic but there's an unmarked gold/brown Vauxhall Astra - 63 plate with hidden blues.

I noticed it was riding super low on the back and had a second small aerial which is a tell tale sign for Police car. As I overtook it and looked left it was 4 up, big lads in vests, hats, radios etc...

Seen on the A217 from Banstead towards M25 on the Kingswood roundabout. After I overtook, I sat at a steady 42 in front of it with people passing me in the outside lane and it didn't do anything about speeding drivers oblivious to its presence. He turned off to go down The Warren.

I have a relative who made London to Manchester in under 2 hours in a Sprinter,
It did have Blue lights on too

White Transit and a Dark (Blue or Black) Passat on the M3 this morning, Northbound between 5 and 4a I think, a couple of minutes apart.

Can't say much about those vehicles, but you don't have to worry about them

M25 North, near Watford. Heathrow bound. 5pm.
Big white Scannia Cab unit on its own. No markings. Sure it was a policeman given the uniform, and the mobile pinned to his chest.

But what really stood out was the very large smartphone he was holding against the steering wheel !

There's been a lot of unusual unmarked vehicles flying around the M25 today, some even had me guessing at their use! I was followed down the hard shoulder earlier, by a blue Volvo V70, I thought It was an ambulance response vehicle going to the same job, but turns out it wasn't.

I'm surprised no one has spotted our new toy on the motorway yet

I was on the M25 Surrey section yesterday and there were a lot more marked cars there than usual. Gave me the impression something was going on...

Haven't spotted any new unmarked cars there recently. Go on, give us a bit of a clue...
