Just wondering if anyone knew of any companies around the area who specialise in alloy wheel refurbs? Need to get the back two done on the 'teg.

Tried BJV Engineering but they haven't answered my emails or phone calls (perhaps they're that good they can't stop?!)so I was wondering if anyone could recommend any other companies in the area. Or any mobile companies they'd recommend??

Many thanks.

Smiler.

BJV are a small outfit & takes a bit of persistence, but they are good - I've had two sets done biggrin

BMW Nigel has use some guys in Iver, Bucks. He'll be along soon I'm sure with the details.

These are the guys that both Nigel and Myself use.

They are based in Ricthens park and are an honest outfit. smile

It's a franchise, so depends on where, I wouldn't recommend the ones I paid £60+ per wheel to do mine, the finish isn't perfect they're already splitting and they didn't do the whole wheel just the bits you see.

Do BJV take the tyres off, strip the wheel and start again?

Sandhurst MOT, Vulcan way did mine on the Beemer. Cracking job at £40 per corner, which was good considering Mrs H parking technique paperbag

I had the Chim wheels done through Bracknell tyres. Similar price, little disappointed with one of them though.

I suspect that they may both use the same place though. Picked up on a Tuesday, returned on Friday IIRC

I dropped the M5 alloys off at BJV today for a refurb. they have done wheels for me before. Always been impressed.

Yes, but they charge for doing it. Dunno how much, I've always had the tyres off.

BJV have done about a dozen sets for me or "through" me - always do an excellent job for £30 a wheel (£40 per wheel if they take the tyres off and remount them for you).

Their van does collections and deliveries on Tuesdays and Fridays along the M4 (ish) - they used to stop by my old office in Bracknell when i called them and asked for this.

Thanks for the advice folks - got a price from BJV and it definitely seems competitive and from what i've read they come highly recommended. Only slight problem may be sourcing some axle stands whilst they're sent away for the refurb.

Also got hold of the local Wicked Wheels fella who's gonna call me back. As it's the inside rims which need doing doesn't look like a mobile repair is possible but apparently they've got a garage near High Wycombe.

Thanks for the help and will keep you posted.

Another vote here for BJV.

I had a set done a few years back and they looked as pristine when I sold the car two years later as when I had them done. The guy I spoke to was also happy to take the time to explain the relative merits of a diamond cut vs. a powder coated finish for me even though he was steering me to the cheaper option.

It was a place in High Wycombe that did mine, as I said further up, expensive and not up to scratch from my experience.
