Ah yes, that was the "Magic Roundabout". So called because it made John_r disappear from in front of my very eyes ...

Backing up the pack before leaving the M25 might have been a good move. We got too spread out before hitting the twisties. By the time I reached Ockham Common I think you lot were long gone, judging by the fact I could'nt hear any radio chatter anymore.
TBH even with only 8 or 9 of us in that lead pack we still managed to get split by traffic towards the end; although we did manage to arrive at Wadhurst together... ( "I can hear you...!" )
Yes but what with the radios and being "regulars" you stood a good chance of staying on the same roads. Think you may have missed my point, but I'm not going to keep banging on about this smile

I think we should have made it clearer that everyone wasn't going to be doing the same route as I knew Rich in the T350 was taking the short route, but I guess nobody else did boxedin

When we drove past ockham common I thought we were all still there, I guess that was our second mistake, we should have all stopped for a few moments to get everyone back together, I think the rest of the run worked okay as we all managed to stay together even if there was a bit of a gap at times.

So I guess next time a bit more thought needs to go into this if we have more than about 10 cars, however I still had serious giggle although having the whole route in tom tom was a big part of that.

Rich and I had decided to go on a fairly direct route, partly because I didn't fancy blasting along the lanes in those conditions and we had a feeling it was going to get busy at the other end. A nice parking spot and a bacon sarnie AND a pain au chocolat AND a croissant AND three cups of tea says we made the right choice wink

We did hang back at the start so as not to try and confuse everyone but none of the other stragglers who got caught up at the traffic lights joining the motorway overtook Rich's T350. I was under the impression that no-one came with us past the A3 turn-off, but apologies to anyone who did. I did try waving to the exit for anyone behind. Highlights the need for a map if you aren't sure of the route!!

Another reason for staying on the m'way a little longer was to try to get some drive-bys on video and on some of the country hoons these opportunities are few and far between. There's a little (7 minute) clip here of our trip if anyone's interested. The T350 is one sweet sounding car!! Any other vids?

Rich VRS - hope you got some shots from the cars you wanted - I wouldn't mind seeing some. Sorry it didn't work out this time, but if you're on any other meet, let me know.

no worries, im very tempted next time to drive ahead of you guys to try and get some pictures of you all comming down a few roads. i got a few good shots but not as many as id hoped for in the end (still had wicked time though!!!)

i will however have to get a few more passenger ride in a few TVR's as that was simply an awesome sound, and top hear the turbo's in the Noble.

Yeah, Manta wasn't really viable for this one, largely due to it's lack of a heater! at -5 i would never have got it defrosted...... so we took the comfy car!

I doubt anyone from here would care, we've got so many pics of most of the cars up here already it's not going to matter.

I have to agree there Rob i did hold back a few times to allow the pack to bunch up again! but i think the pace was set by some s3's with an unfair advantage of the Vors sprung Dorcht Tecnik hehe
rofl

I would just like to say, I could always see that bloody silver S3 in my mirrors and most of the time could also see the Grey Porsche so, I guess what I'm saying is, blame them hehe
What bloody S3 whistle I only took the bloody tail feathers off that pheasant! Well I could either see Nathan or hear him on the Radio and when I was leading I could see both a Porshe and a S3 in the Mirror? so im now passing the buck to Nathan blabla

Oh and as to the race for the Bacon baps I believe we did a gentleman's finish for a Drawer, We just didnt want a cheese sandwich......blah

As to keeping up I managed to hold pace during my short stint at the rear, whistle and Dave (Xlift) the reason you couldnt see us out of your wind screen is cause we where out of your side window most of the time nuts

John D, as to stopping at Ockham Common may be we should have it was a case of "yes no yes umm no", But I agree with your point though I didnt think we'd spread out that much? boxedin

I really hope this doesnt get in the way of all the fun in the long run? could we not break into groups of 10 at the start? we all have an idea of who we want to drive with? new comers can do as I did in December follow the form and move arround as appropriate, may be one day they too will achoeve the BMWDRIVER trainee academy level of nuts

As much as as we all love to be in a group maybe we have to accept that 30 cars are going to get split up a bit. how about we start at 7.15 instead, and add a 10min catch up point half way in, at a predetermined location?

Thanks Nigel, a complement from a fellow motoring squire!!

And Thanks to you all for puttign up with me and being a great group of peeps! I was saying to Rich VRS on the way back how glad I am that we went on the dash to the Coast ,despite getting very lost, and how much we appreciate all the enjoyment we are getting out of it!!

ahhh well its all in good fun and we all made it safely!!!! and some of us got bacon!!laugh

Ah think i won that race as i had sent a forward party consisting of the kinky and mrsxllifts a bacon roll and latte was passed to me as i arrived hehe

getmecoat thought i got away with that one! hope no one got it on film as i may get beaten from mrs xl laugh

My quote of the day was from mini me when we got slightly sideways 'Dad feck in hell nathan's going that way where are we going?' hehe

Think the 10 min staggered start would be a good idea another option would be set RVP's that people can tag on the end as we go past?

Nice to see Eric be pressured to uprate his Banana rofl
