This is rediculous. How many roads in th UK have different speed limits depending on which way you are travelling? I'm more embarrassed 'cos I live on Marlow Hill and hadnt noticed boxedin

Going up it's 30 for the first 5-10 metres then it's 40 all the way to the Handy Cross Roundabout. Going down it's 40 all the way from Handy Cross till just after the turning halfway down the hill when it changes to 30.

I'm puzzled as to how they could have zapped you as their usual spot of parking up by the traffic lights for the Daws Hill lane junction would be (almost) out of sight for the 30 limit section. Although they could see you it wouldn't be long enough to snap you. They'd have to be tracking you and only you to ensure that they could grab a picture. Strange...

Could they not have been sitting in Wordsworth Road?

It is halfway down the hill and I think it is in the 30 zone.

Doh.. Just drove down the hill. The 30 limit kicks in just before Wordsworth Road. Still don't get how they could have caught you though. Line of sight is all wrong. confused

er.. .. ..there is no 30 limit on the hill now, it has been 40 since early last year.
Going down the hill is 40 then 30.

A friend got caught aswell same day 38 in a 30 and my girlfriends uncle got caught aswell 38 in a 30 (twice now). There speed guns must be fixed on 38!
Nope, I got done for 36 by the bastids on the same spot (near bottom of hill) a year ago.
This is a dual lane down hill and I was driving an automatic which means I must be hanging on the anckers.
First speeding ticket in 25 years of which many years driving TIVs.
It must be a lovely scam for them.

ETA: £60 and three points no offer of speed awareness course
